Advice on which CDJ's to buy!! HELP!!!

After finally getting my vinyl collection converted to MP3 I am now looking to buy some CDJ's but there are so many out there and I haven't a clue which does what.

As I understand it, Pioneers are like the Technics of the CDJ World, but if I spent in excess of £2,000 on CDJ 2000's I think the wife might just cut my testicles off

Obviously they are out, but can anyone give me a brief summary in terms of differences/advantages/disadvantages to the Pioneer CDJ 800/850/900/1000.

Sorry if this has been covered previously!

they're all pretty much of a muchness mate and will all do the job.

i had a pair of 1000s for years and rate them highly. i've played with the 800s and thought they were ok but not as good as the 1000s. that said i've also played on the old 100s and they are pretty good for their age!

if you can afford to buy the 1000s or higher i'd go that route...just steer away from second hand as you have no idea how they've been treated and getting things like laser alignment fixed if it's off is akin to buying a new unit.

best recommendation is to buy the 2000s and tell the wife you got em cheap

once you get whatever you get though you're gonna wish you'd done all those rips to wav and not mp3....

I likes the spinny platters on the Denon 3700s.
Instead of CDJs I went the other route in the end tho and went for a software approach instead, when I switched to a digi hybrid setup.

at home mate all you are going to need is the 800's that is a fact unless u wanna piss about with effects n loops which the 800 can also do but the 1000's are better and offer more features but is it really worth the extra money??? if u are rich and want the best of the best and you can afford to upgrade everytimesummin new hits the market get 2000;s but like everything summin else pioneer will crop up 2000's mk2 then u latest cdj;s will become old news,

the jog wheeel 800'sr good same as 1000 and 2000, pitch control exactly the same , so ur basic mixing and more than enough effect mixing is fully supported by a 800cdj and a 600/800 djm although 800 mixer is enuff better than the 600
