Thread: Lost my music making mojo - help !!!

If you don't already know, I had my laptop stolen a week or so ago. I was working on about 10 different projects they're gone. I had a remix of "Hardcore will never die" pretty much finished, its gone.

All of my 1000's of mp3s are gone, I only ever backed up samples and songs. My last backup was 6 months ago a lesson there for all of you!

I've reinstalled my beloved Renoise and one vsti installed so far, and then I've just stopped for the last few days I can't bring myself to download them all again and install them.

I've had such a good year of tunes being put out there and loved being back into it all again, but to end the year like this is just gutting, I'm finding it really hard to dust myself down and start again. I keep imagining that my folders are suddenly going to reappear in my new laptop and they won't!

That's horrible Harrrry - maybe you might get it back if you reported it stolen

But you have to move on and the only way to do this is to get up and running again - don't let the bastards who stole your laptop get you down - it's done and nothing can change this

Can't help much with mojo, but have tonnes of samples, vsts & mp3s - you know where I am so if you ever want to bring an external drive round and copy some stuff over, just give me a shout

It's best not to try and force the issue. Take a break for as long as it takes and one day the desire and ideas will come back, trust me.

Think everyone who's reading this now is also backing up their hard drives! That's terrible news. When it comes to samples I think Leonized is your man, although I've got tons you can have too. I'm sure you'll get back on it, don't let the bastards get you down!
