    Mixer for sale

I have a mixer for sale that I picked up recently, unfortunately it's not really suitable for me because the headphone section isn't flexible enough for my needs ( I do my mixing through headphones because having a 1/2 k system blaring would not be good for neighbourly relations)

the mixer is a Formula Sound FSM-400

I did plug it through some speakers briefly and the sound is top notch
unfortunately because of the headphone section am going to pass it on,
more suited to be played through a system proper
it cost me 180 pounds so if anyone is interested PM me
    200 pounds with post included,
thought I'd stick it on here for first refusal,
    Cheers.

Don't take this the wrong way Ray but if you paid £180 for it and although it's not really being used, don't you think it you should be selling for less than £180 with postage rather than £200 with postage - there'll be more chance of you getting a sale - just my thoughts

    you've confuzeled me there msprim

edit; I'm not trying to make any profit, the price I got it for was cheap(it's a very rare mixer to come on the second hand market) I thought I'd give first dibs to anyone on here who maybe interested for the same price I got it for, or i'll stick on e-bay or gumtree for 250 pounds, It's a rare mixer msprim, thats why,

You said in the original post you paid £180 for the mixer but you would sell to someone on here for £200 with postage. All i am saying is that normally you sell for less than you bought it for

It doesn't matter to me what price you wish to sell the mixer for Ray - i was trying to give you a tip so you will get a sale that's all

I'll spam myself in the forehead for that mistake.

    cheers msprim

msprim, if you interested i'll do you a good deal. But to be honest it really needs to be used with a powerful amplifier, which I don't have, I have another mixer if your interested, 3 channel Numark matrix 3, if you are honestly looking for a mixer you can have it for postage and a beer,
I don't use that one since I got the one I use now, if you need a mixer you can have it, no probs

I will be buying a mixer as part of a package deal But thanks for the offer - i am getting a pair of Numark V7s so i just need a basic 2 channel mixer as the V7s have all the other features that i need.

I have just had a look at the Matrix 3 mixer and it looks to be nice little mixer plus it's easy on the eye - you will definitely get a sale for that one Ray.

What condition is the mixer in and how old is it and do you have the original box? Give a rough idea of how much of a drink you are after too Ray I still might be interested

It's a very good mixer I wouldn't have used it if it wasn't, never mind the look of it, it's the sound of it that counts, and that is a good mixer(for the price, no Formula Sound you understand) I won't sell it to you now because you'll just sell it on for a profit, sorry the deal's off

The quality of a mixer and look of a mixer is important to me Ray - i don't like mixers that have loads of knobs as they look too cluttered and they just look ugly

The Matrix 3 is now a discontinued line - you must have had it a while

If i was to buy the mixer from you Ray it would be for my own personal use

the lowdown on it is it very nice to use, but it does'nt have much oomph as it were, not a pro mixer, but it is a very nice mixer, a gem of a mixer, believe me, I wouldn't have it otherwise.
In regards the crossfader, I'm not too sure about replacing it. I think you can but you'd have to take the face plate off. Anyway, I'd recommend this mixer big time have alook on the internet about it and decide yourself, no big deal, probably get a better one, but it will cost you some coin, I had 2 happy years mixing on it, and they are discontinued, have a google see what you reckon,

I got the v7's good bit of kit but wouldnt it be cheaper for you to get the NS6 ?
unless of course you werent keen on the motorless plater tops.

thing about these controllers though msprim as i said before make sure you have a fast
computer as itch uses loads of cpu power

I'm getting an up-to-date laptop to use with them J3D - with the latest processors Nothing fancy like but it will only be used with the V7s for mixing

I prefer the motor platters to be honest and it will be the nearest to vinyl mixing as i'll get - i was also thinking as the V7s are quite big i might get a set of decks and serato instead - just seeing the price differences if there is one

I think i'll probably stick to the V7s though as they look wicked and i'll get the little flight cases for them to protect them

aslong as the laptop you get has the i7 CPU as the lower i3 and i5 CPU has no end
of complaints on the forum. Infact nearly everyone on the help forum swears by
the macbook Pro with i7. and by the amount of windows related complaints with itch
id defiantly suggest a OSX option.

My mac is old now aparently !! 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo , 4GB DDR Ram
it tends to struggle at times with itch and multitasking whilst itch is open isnt really a option
by the time i have itch open , broadcast streaming server and the chat room
the cpu meter on itch is half way across the bar odd freezes and jitters every now and then
have to set the latency to middle setting

where as Sereto Scratch Live uses fuck all cpu could have latency set to 0
and multitask/open as many apps as i pleased ie. Video webcam record , audio record, chat room
stream braodcaster with out a single complaint or spike of cpu power.

if you can find a nice set of turntables for a good price and the SL2 Box
then id say go for it.
