Pissed off somewhat... Numark Mixtrack Pro...

I've been using it & it's doing things that i want (although i'm limited by it's real time scratches) after But anywho's... I've just done 2 mixes & just after 30 minutes for both mixes (which is why i did 2) the mixtrack pro doesn't work & i have to do it via my laptop... Pissing me off muchly... Too pissed to have a proper rant

My Numark TT1650 direct drive deck (i only have 1) if you put any pressure on a vinyl will stop the platter spinning... Which is shit.

But my Numark DM3000EX chrome mixer is a thing of beauty & hasn't let me down in over 8 years

I just need to figure out why the mic isn't working on my Numark Mixtrack Pro, works fine whilst mixing & talking through the amp but on playback the mic has gone

I've fiddled with the settings etc & still no joy

    Did u get this fixed?
Sounds like a power management issue to me, with the USB port going leepy byeboes

The Mic needs a channel of it's own, or the final output (after the Mic is added over the top) needs rerouting back into a channel for recording if you're using Traktor.

I dont use a mic but just had a little experiment there (plugged my headphones in the mic) and I see what you mean.

Looks like the mic only goes through the mixtrack and comes out the rca's at the back. What a pain in the arse.

You could come out the back of the mixtrack back into the pc (on the pc's soundcard) with an rca to headphone lead, then back out the pc to your amp. Recording your stuff manually using audacity or soundforge using the pc's line in. I think that would work

Nice one, i'll give that a try... Bit of a shitter that Numark didn't think it through with the mic

Muchly appreciated with the help though mate

Leon. Does your mic work with soundforge etc? I had the same issue... Then found it was because the mic needed a preamp. Not got one yet to test it....

I don't use Soundforge mate, i just USB it into my lappy then open VDJ & hit record... It's been suggested the mic needs to be pre-amped & i think that's the problem, there are ways around it but for now i can just put RCA's from the mixtrack pro into my mixer then record it using my Soundblaster thingamajig i use to record my vinyl & have the mic into the mixer

No mate, it's the absolute shite torque on the TT1650, it's direct drive but acts like a belt drive... The slipmat on it is pretty good, the slipmats on my TTX1's are shit for scratching but amazing for instant starting when hitting the start button

Fair enough. I've not used Numark directs before, only belt and they where pretty decent as it goes. The torque on my old Gemini TT-02 MK2's was so shit, I couldn't do anything with them at all. Hands down the worst decks I've ever had. I'm on Numark Axis 9's now and as a CD deck goes I think it's a great bit of kit.

The Numark TTX1's are fuckin' awesome... I've had a mix going & pressed reverse on both decks simultaneously, then pressed it to go forward & backwards 4 or 5 times & they never went out of time at all... That to me is fannytastic

I've also got some Numark CDX's & they are tasty bits of kit... I haven't mixed with them yet due to not having enough space to set them up properly but i'm pretty sure they will be good too
