Bugger...
Only chance I get for a couple of hours is early Sat morning & last 2 I've not had any time (Peppa pig world 2 weekends ago & parents anniversary weekend just gone).
Will put a reminder on my phone for this weekend & don't think we're doing anything this Sat morning.
Do want to get it done as the more people doing renoise means we can share files for remixes & stuff
What I might be able to do before then is up a small demo file for you to play around with - although still won't explain how I got it all on there.
Ok, video done (just re-encoding from HD) - since it has my voice all over it, I'm only going to up & pm to people that actually want it - so Tomahawk / Msprim
If anyone else wants it (who's a regular), then let me know - I won't be sending this to anyone with less than 50 posts.
I'll also include the little demo file made within the video.

I have to say the new video is very helpful and it has learnt me enough to actually do something, instead of looking at it and thinking what the hell do i do next
Thanks RenegadeGenius![]()
I would like a look out of interest RG you may do something amazing that I don't know about ! Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks!
Hellooo,
Will pm the link over - it's only a very basic - load up sounds, put into sequencer, duplicate patterns etc so doubtful
I do have one trick I know you've not used on some of the files you've sent me which is putting multiple samples into one main sample area so you can play the different samples using the keys rather than keep switching between samples (useful for drumkits or kick / snare parts of a drum loop).
The new renoise version has made this overly tricky though which is a shame.
Watching it now, I learnt something new after 50 seconds! Didn't know you could drag and drop samples in !
Its a great video for anyone starting out well done.
Its interesting to see someone else use it, its weird how you do the same things as me but in a slightly different way for instance I find pageup/pagedown to move 16 notes is much easier than f9 f10 f11 f12, instead of pressing delete in between notes I use the down arrow and rather than use the record button top left I hit space.
But yeah wish I could have watched something like that when I first started out back in the day on soundtracker I just guessed the whole thing!
I need to get Lesson 2 done
And space would be quicker than keep going up to the top - must remember those hot keys![]()
