    Turntables Advice

    Right me yet again

You can see i value all your opinions - i just wanted some advice on some direct drive turntables. I can't afford to get Technics but i would if i could

So i have to settle with less expensive ones. I have chosen 2 turntables that i like but i don't know which ones are better, which is where you lot come in

    Citronic PD1 MK3

    Citronic PD1 MK3 Turntable

    or

    Gemini TT2000

    Gemini TT2000 Direct Drive Turntable

If you had to choose between the two decks, which ones would you get?

    Any help is greatly appreciated

If I really had to then I'd take the Gemini over the Citronic. I've used Gemini direct drive's in the past and they're ok, not great but ok. I've never used any Citronic gear so I can't compare really.

What price range are you looking at? And would you consider CD decks?

If i was to buy second hand decks they would only be Technics and they would have to be in good nick, perfect working order and must have the dust guards - they must come from a loving home before i would buy them

    I'm a fussy buggar

I'm gonna get those Citronics. If you got to HTFR.com and look at there price of them, See if you can find them cheaper and they will beat the price. The lowest I found them for was £125.

Give your local music shop a call and tell them what you're after and that you're comparing the 2 models. The smaller shops will help you and then you can try them out.

Sorry I meant £145 Although they were for sale here for £109

Citronic PD-1 Mk3 Direct Drive DJ Turntable

Check Gumtree.ie there is always 1210's on there for sale. 400-500 for the pair most prices are. Also Adverts.ie and Sounds Around in Capel Street Dublin is a good DJ store. Once I have enough money I'm going to source my production hardware from the US. Well cheaper than £££'s Site is worth a look, I'm sure they have turntables there. I'm saving my cash first J3D

I just like to do my research first before i decide

I was talking to my other half this morning about buying Technics and i was saying i may get them second hand and he said you're better off buying new ones as you don't know by the pictures on Ebay and other sites how well they are looked after - he has a point i think.

So i may well buy a new pair of Technics which means i will have to save a bit longer for the other things i need

The Vestax decks look like they are closest in quality to Technics. I saw the video you posted too - i couldn't believe the needle stayed on that first deck at a 90 degree angle

I hope to buy the new decks in 2/3 months and everything else in 3/4 month

Good things come to those who wait

never used the citronics or the gemini's before, but I'd go with the citronics, simply because the gemini's look ugly as sin, I'd have to mix with my eyes closed so I didn't have to look at em, lol.

I know the Citronics look better but the Gemini's are a better turntable
