    VDJ 7 out

Virtual Dj version 7 has just come out.

I spend some of last night messing about with the free 'home' version.

    The three main changes are:
    4+ decks
    line in
    & rewire

I only tested the 4+ deck aspect and this is awesome.
Great being able to drop loops in for a bit, layer them up.

For me, the only real use of line in would be to attempt some lame beat box loop - which could be quite fun
would be cool for anyone that plays a live instrument though.

Rewire is something that I'm looking forward to testing - rigging VDJ up to Orion, cutting up samples and looping those too, plus adding synth lines.
Hopefully the two progs will keep sync ok

VDJ gets bad press, but I really do think it's excellent
Effects etc. not as good as other software though

I've just installed VDJ 7.0 & i have to say i like it.. Not really tested it to it's ability as i've just got the programme on my laptop to piss about mixing 2 tunes (i'm no professional).

I'll be spending time figuring it out on the weekend but from the last 20 minutes pissing about... I like it

If i'm truly honest i prefer version 3.1 because i did my best mixes on it & knew the programme, getting old now & can't be arsed to keep up

    I'll try though

yep, they made a great jump with this version & the possibility to play more than 2 decks. the version seems to be very solid & reliable. this is certainly the most user friendly on the market & also very powerfull. adopted...

tried vdj 7 a few weeks back and where as it's an improvement to the old one i personally dont think it has a patch or serato itch for stability, yeah it's got more features and supports 4 decks at the moment where as itch support's 2 untill the next update but something that's not a 1-1 program built for kit i.e it works with loads of controllers instead of ones it was made for .. this will never be as stable and so i will give this and traktor a miss.

    i'm serato till i die

I have VDJ 6 Professional Edition and i will stick with it as VDJ 7's 4+ decks and other features scare the hell out of me - too complicated in other words - i need to learn with 2 decks first before i branch out

I've got VDJ 7 & i'll be honest... I didn't know there was a 4 deck option... Just looks better than the previous versions with a couple of extra features which come in handy

I've also got V6, but i like the idea of 4 deck mixing to emulate one of my heroes. Carl Cox. Will deffo do a tribute mix for the man himself, if i get this
