I seem to remember reading a thread on here some time ago regarding ripping the vocal off tracks and the correct way of doing it but now i can't find it. Anyone remember said thread?![]()

nope.
I don't know about the thread but I know a little about the technique. It's known as phase inversion and is very hard to do.
What is the vocal you're wanting to rip?
Yeah it's pretty tough from what I've heard. The reason being because you need to have the frequencies of the music part in both the instrumental and vocal versions of the track the same and most of the time they're not plus the tempo has to be exactly right too.
You can try the likes of Knockout but I've always found them to be shit.
good luck then![]()
I'm after the choir vocal from Gerald McCann - Cry Little Sister (Lost Boys Theme) - but only the choir. I've heard it in tunes but it either has the whole bar in it or it sounds ropey. A friend sent me a karaoke version but the same problem applies. I'm guessing its been tried a million times but i'd still like a crack anyway. Actually thats a lie - i'd like someone to have the sample or just do it for me but still....![]()
Ah mate I love that choir sample, great minds and all that![]()
sure I've heard that in a hardcore/jungle tune and I've defo got it, hang on...
Do you mean the "thou shall not vocal"? Or the background to that?
nice one mortis, appreciated. Like i say tho i'm guessing its been tried a million times - damn popular tune that![]()
Can't find it at all. Sorry mate. I could try to extract it from the Force & The Evolution track, might take some time though.
I have the original Lost Boys CD album, so will rip & see what can be done - failing that, I'll get it up'd.
