Question BEST FREE Software for Ripping Vinyl???

Set up a new PC and im looking for the best FREE software for ripping vinyl?

I had on the old tower a cracked copy of WAVELAB... and that was great but have not been able to find a free version online?

I have used before GOLDWAVE but cant remember it if saves to .WAV AND Tags?

Can anyone offer some advice and links for summit that will rip to WAV & 320mp3... and that will TAG what you save?

    Cheerz

Likewise I use Sony Soundforge, Torrents are easy to find a cracked version, personally I wouldn't use anything else now

I use Audacity for ripping & Adobe Audition 3 for editing.

The main file space you'll need is for your rips. The program won't take up much & if it's purely for ripping / trimming the start and end gaps then there should be no problem.
With editing you'll need space for 'undo' stuff, but unless you're doing eq / beefing up etc, that won't be an issue.

Record using 16bit 44.1khz Stereo wav settings, but you can save out as you like - wav being best of course. I also use a separate mp3 encoder (audiograbber using the lame codec) so not sure how good the one on audacity is if saving stuff out to mp3s.

As for tagging - I don't use it, so no idea if it automatically does all that for you.

They all do the same thing - just re-arranged a bit differently.
It's only when you come to effects & stuff is when they differ.

Audacity is free as far as I'm aware.

This is what happens when you try to get dodgy stuff

    Anyway :

Free File Hosting, Online Storage &amp File Upload with FileServe
Free File Hosting, Online Storage &amp File Upload with FileServe

    Pass:
    4shar1ng
Unless you have an account with fileserve, there will be a delay in grabbing each bit - I'd say grab part 3 first.

    PS:

IMPORTANT!!!If you have any of recent AiR elicenserreleases (Cubase 5, Wavelab 6, Nexus 2,etc..) please note that this rls might f**k them up!WaveLab LE 7 is using newest soft-elicenser which overwrites AiR's custom created copy-protection DLL's!!!You've been warned!

Most 'dodgy' software these days isn't that easy to install - some is, but most require lots of extra work to be done to get things to work - the price of not paying up

Audacity is basic - hence it being 'Free' - but with my soundcard (M-Audio 2496) it's the only way which will allow me to record in stereo (for some strange reason).

Never used wavelab but might give it a go as adobe audition keeps crashing when adding effects when doing my mixdowns which is very annoying.
