    Car MP3 FM Radio Transmitters

Anyone got one of these? I had the genius idea of doing away with the plethora of cds in my car to getting one of these transmitters and a memory card with some giggage to fit it and shove cds worth of music on it. i have just tried it and whilte it works, it quite static in the background, anyone had any experience with this?

My Missus has one in her car, I think it's made by Elogic. She hasn't had any issues with it .

I had a similar item and it worked for a while but then eventually became sporadic with its transmitting, only going to one side and degrading.

I think I over used it!

He he, don't need one, always make sure you order the car with the iPOD connection............

My missus on the other hand has one of these; http://reviews.cnet.com/mp3-player-acce ... 48005.html

    Got it from Curries.

She's had it for around 2-3 years now, works fine, and like anything I think the more you spend the better generally the system; plus it had been highly recommended to us. Set her back about £50 new.

You can set it to transmit through any station on the FM Network, and, it has (if I get this right, don't trust me on this if) three pre-set stations, and, the ability to alter through the FM Range, plus I think it does some of this automatically at a touch of the button.

Only thing I've ever noticed is that on long drives you need to play with them a bit as you pass through reception areas, as you can get interference if you stay on the same channel, and that should be expected......... other issue is it's iPOD only, and you need the docking variant.

It also charges her iPOD at same time.

Bang Nine Automatic Honey Child, oh yeahh......

(I know, but Honey Child does sound better... and for years I never knew..............)

I've just recently got one of these bad boys

    http://www.cheapelectricals.co.uk/acata ... 4700_.html

My iphone now plays music via bluetooth through my stereo and pauses music for me to answer the phone through the stereo, also has usb connection to charge while on the move.

Best investment i've made next to my iphone.

Re: Car MP3 FM Radio Transmitters

I bought one of these FM transmitters for my car and it is crap - so far I don't think I've been able to drive longer than 10 minutes without it losing the reception and you can't retune it easily at the press of a button so isn't really safe for use whilst driving because it takes too much effort to retune it.

Am starting to get increasingly frustrated that I didn't get a car with an MP3 connection point now as most of my music is on my MP3 player (not an ipod either which restricts some of the things you can use).

Have even got to the point where I'm considering having the panel which holds the CD30 stereo in my Corsa removed and getting a normal stereo with an MP3 socket fitted in its place instead.

i had 1 off these, and mine worked fine just first scan the fm station and look for a clear gap betten stations i think i used 106.75-107-25fm and never had any troubles.
i paid 5.50 off ebay it was quite loud thru my stereo too,and good quality.. but my only problem i had was all the cables in the way from the fag lighter and the power connection was tempremental

Re: Car MP3 FM Radio Transmitters

I guess it all depends on how serious you are about your in-car music - as with all these things you can chuck money at the problem depending on what you want at the other end.

If you're looking for a cheap option I can recommend the iTrips that plugs into any iPod / iPhone. I've got one which I connect to old iPod nano that now lives in my car.

As someone said earlier I have to change the frequency every now and again but if I keep it around 106.5FM it's not too bad where I live. Given it was only £20 I can't complain.

My mate has one of these made by Belkin and she uses it to play her Ipod on her car stereo and her Hi-Fi and she has had no problems with it.
