How Do You Put Music Files In Folders On To A DVD?

I want to back up my music collection just in case the worst thing happens - external hard drive failure

I have that much stuff it would be better for me to copy my audio files onto a DVD rather than a cd. I don't want write only files on the DVDs just the regular files as they are if you know what i mean - in folders etc.

But how do you do it? Do you need specific software to to this?

    Thanks in advance

No, Stick a DVD it into the PC, Go to the media player and drag the files into it and burn it as you would with a normal CD. It should change to DATA CD or DVD. It would normally say Audio CD. I'm sure you cant copy the folders just the contents of them

I use Nero... Choose data DVD, pop a blank DVD-r in & drag & drop any folders upto 4.5 gig into it, click next (or burn can't remember) then you can name the disc & tick the verify compilation box then hit burn & viola jobs a good un

I do the verify just to confirm it's been written to the disc properly... You can put folders with sub folders on the disc too, that's how i back up my shizzle innit

    Word of Caution:

Copying MP3 from DVD back onto HDD takes an age, 10 mins and sometime the slightest scratch renders your disc - Coffee Coaster
