Very recommended, the only thing is your have to sit there and manually stop the recording once the tape plays out. I haven't learnt to use Audacity yet and use the EZ converter, this is the simply version of the software bundled.
The hardware noise reduction is not too hot so don't expect it to take tonnes of tape hiss out from old recordings from 92 etc. The hardware noise reduction just seams to dub down the mid-range. If your tapes are good quality you’ll have no problems... 4 the money brilliant product.
Thanks 4mega![]()
I'm not very good at using new software either![]()
i bought one of these http://www.firebox.com/product/2540/...d=274&via=main also from ion
good, audacity is quite complicated, i am sticking to the ez software.

I use one of these to convert my tapes. don't use the software that it came with I use Amadeus for the Mac which seems to be easy enuff and works a treat.
Just about to go back down to wales for work so ordered one of these and taking a few tape packs with me to convert
hopefully this keeps me out of the hotel bar for a bit![]()

Hi,
I'm very interessted too about Ion Tape2PC..
Any one know if this Cassette Deck has an auto-reverse mode?
This is the same as what msprim is looking at dogg, but she is looking in Argos and is over £20 cheaper than Amazon!!!Originally Posted by dogg
cool will keep a look out for the ION tape deck, but am sure that maplins are cheaper than argos
I got a lead off ebay for £1.99 - 3.5mm jack to jack - plug one end into your input line on your soundcard and the other into the headphone socket of your record/tape player and bob's yer uncle. Just wish I hadnae gotten rid of most of my rave tapes years ago!!!!
I'm agree with you.. Thanks for the info..
