    keep getting interference

When I'm ripping some tapes (not all) I keep getting interference on the recording, for example I'm sat here ripping a tape using the ion tape express using the provided usb cable. and my headphones. I get some interference in the rip, sounds like it's coming from a mobile receiving a text or something, but there are no phones turned on near me.
any ideas what it could be

I get this sometimes - not while ripping stuff - but if my PC is on and someone walks by my house - the interference comes on my PC and it's annoying

Maybe this is what happened in your case?

possibly, but I live on the top floor (4th) of a new build flats, maybe it could be people underneath, possibly wi-fi or whatever it's called for the broadband.. baby monitors, wireless electricity monitors.. never mind.. it's not really a problem in the big scheme of things..
just a bit of a pain when trying to do clean rip....let's see if it happens whilst I'm doing this one.

Have u got a proper soundcard or an 'on-board' one?
I've found onboard ones do that - even if u move the mouse!

tbh mate, I don't know it's inside my laptop. with no proper soundcard ports (whatever they are called) i have a new laptop hp one, with hd etc, so i guess it's a good soundcard...

Laptops always have on board ones - only way to get a decent one for those is an external one I believe.

Can you still hear the noise when you replay the mix? Try ripping with all speakers/head phones turned off?
