Thread: Micro HiFi System with USB, can it play a Ipod ?

I got my girlfriend a Panasonic SC-PM5DB DAB Micro Hi-Fi System in the sales today. It's not bad for what it is but i am having no joy in getting a Ipod to play via the USB port ? It also as a 'Music Port for Digital Audio Player Connection' but not sure how this would hook up to a Ipod anyway ?? Here is a spec link for the one i got - DAB

think it may be something to do with Apple doing their usual "it's my ball and I'm going home" business.

I honestly think that if the hi-fi thingy doesn't advertise that it supports iPod, then it probably doesn't - but I'm sure there might be some sort of way around it with software or something

Yep i think it could be Apple pulling a fast one X( I am sure there will be away around it like you say

I suspect that the USB is for music on memory sticks and the 'Music port...' is a for a 3.5mm headphone jack to 3.5 mm headphone jack connector. So you can either connect that port to headphone socket on the ipod, or get a Line Out Dock or LOD. It connects to the docking port at the bottom of the ipod and goes to either a 3.5mm headphone jack or phono cables. The LOD makes for a better connection that out of the headphone socket.
