mp3 split to use as a ringtone

I know splitting mp3's has been covered before, but I can't remember how to do it..

If I want to take part of a track to use as a ring tone, how do I split that section of the mp3?

i cut my all my musical stuff with wavelab.. you might also use soundforge. both programs cost some money.
if you want me to do the cuts for you, send me the file and let me know, what part exactly you need.

otherwise just do a google search for mp3 cutter. i guess this could fit for your needs.

A good free alternative is Audacity. You can find it here Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder

It is a powerful audio editor but can be a little alkward to use sometimes. At least you can give it a go without having to shell out any cash.
