    Problem with tapes...

Now here's a problem for you

I've been recording my tape packs & posting them on here for everyone to enjoy but i've got a few tapes that i can't record because i think the ribbon is too tight in the cassette & it squeals while it plays & affects the playback & quality of the recording...

I've fast forwarded & rewound several times to try & stop the squeaking but it's still happening... Short of braking the cassette open & putting it in another one (which isn't good as they are genuine) what can i do?

Any help would be appreciated (and will aid me to uploading the full packs)

    Thanks for the help guys,

Now have a sample of music saved in music folder, only seems to have recorded in mono and play back like wise.

Would this be the sound card? or have i not got something not quiet right?

Could be sound card, could be a setting on the software you're using, could be that the source is actually mono as well.

You need to just have a play around with various settings and see what happens. The suck it and see method of familiarising yourself with the kit!
