    Bluetooth connection Laptop to Mobile

I have an HP 6720s, Bluetooth enabled.

    I have a Nokia X6, obviously enabled.

Think I can get them to connect? :-j

Phone is made discoverable to all, yet my laptop can't find it.

SoI tried the other way round to get my phone to find my computer, made sure the the computer is discoverable, but when I tick the top left hand box (even though the phone's plugged in via USB), I get this, so my phone can't find my computer:

I've downloaded official HP Bluetooth drivers (even though they were already there), and it's annoying me ~x(

Usually, I'd attach a USB lead, no problem, but the one Nokia supplied me with is about 10 cm in length so when it's connected to the laptop the phone sort of dangles off it

I know that a USB / Mini USB lead is relatively cheap, but I just want the Bluetooth thing to just damn work, if you get me.

    Any help?

I don't know if this is right but what I have to do with mine is tell it that I want to transfer a file.

You need to tick the box "show the bluetooth icon in the notification area". You should now have an icon on the bottom right of your taskbar, right click this and there should be an option to send or receive a file. With mine its a little cumbersome cos I can only send single files at a time don't know if thats the same with all bluetooth devices or not.

Hopefully when you have told your computer to receive a file you can just send the file from your phone as you usually would.

Ah, I know what you mean but my laptop just don't like my phone - can't even find the bugger.

Thanks for the advice, given up on this and will be doing oldskool cable transfers from now on

I have always found that cable transfers are faster anyway and you can transfer multiple files at a time too.

With the bluetooth I had this idea that it you would just pair the two devices and from then on it would be a simple 1 or 2 click affair on your phone to send a file (or multiple files). Guess that would be too easy tho.
