Think Bar touched on this a few months back. It's not quite as simple as you'd think, i.e. just plug 'n' play.
China & RG are the men for this mate![]()
i know i bet it's a right mission mate !! i was round a friends gaff like four years ago and he had set his up in his bedroom "hold tight why was i in his bedroom?"Originally Posted by swipezster

It's okay OSR we're a democracy and allowed our opinion - I think you were in his bedroom to have same-sex anal intercourse with him![]()
I can seriously see this thread quickly going off topic, so sorry mate.
Wish I could help you mate, but I've got this antiquated TV which is about the size of a jumbo jet, nowt flash, like.
Think you should research it on the net.
Start on GayTube, I mean YouTube![]()
a few things you should know about big LCD / Plasma screens as computer monitors
1. you need to plug the tv in before you power your system on
the graphics driver needs to registrar the tv at P.O.S.T
2. The resolution size and bit rate usually sucks arse
3. You can not access System Bios or MS-Dos based diagnostic tools
this would include Boot time scans with virus / malware software
system disc checker and so on.

haha get a mac
i just plug my hdmi cable in and away i go. no need to reboot or any such silly shenanigans either![]()
All I did (and this was a while back just as a test) was buy a dvi-d cable to hdmi lead (dvi-d was the output on my graphics card) - then was just a case of pressing the thing in the graphics card panel to get it to show on the tv (mine being a 32" hd one).
Half Life 2 never looked so good
That was about it really. You just need to make sure u get the right lead for the output on your graphics card.
I got a imac it's 24" at 1920 x 1200 HD Cinema Display so i don't need no LCD or plasmaOriginally Posted by haze
thats big enough for me and at proper resolution![]()

cheers boys i will give it a miss, it's to much for my brainboxi just think porn looks better on a big screen :ymsmug:
All u need is the right lead - if you're not plugging your monitor in at all, then it's just a case of swapping that for the tv.Originally Posted by oldskoolrules
The lead I use is one of these:

Only a few quid.
But you need to check if your monitor lead looks the same, or look on the back of your pc at the monitor connector.
It'll either be that, or a normal vga output : http://thetechnut.files.wordpress.com/2007/09/vga2.jpg
If it's vga, then I'm not sure if u can do it & would require extra effort (such as a new graphics card).
i think i need this one ?Originally Posted by RenegadeGenius

it looks like it will fit my laptop and my tv should have a place to fit the lead and it's only a few quid so nothing lost ... right on buddy![]()

That should do the trick as long as it's the same connector on your graphics card.Originally Posted by oldskoolrules
So basically plug that into your pc & tv, turn the pc on & there u go - simple as that
You may need to adjust the screen size when windows boots up to fill up the screen fully, but that's only a few clicks in the screen resolution bit. Just change it back again before u plug your monitor back in.
It may even auto do it for u if you're lucky![]()
i did'nt read the posts so forgive me its been said. My 32" TV is hooked up to my PC and all i did was take the standard VGA cable that comes with every single monitor and all i did was take it out from the back of the monitor and plug it in to the TV, Job done.
TVs are much lower resolution than dedicated PC monitors.
Even 1080p TVs for their size (42" and above) are low resolution compared to PC monitors.
Saying that, using a TV for playing PC games is great, but I wouldnt want to run music production packages on a TV.
Depends on TV and connectors but be very careful - you could get screen burn on larger LCD's and certainly Plasmas (even the newer ones) So ensure screen saver kicks in nice and quickly!
