Thread: LG TV Screen Fade

I have a LG flat screen TV 'not a plasma' and twice in the last week the left corner of the screen starts to fade then it slowly fades right across the screen until the whole picture as gone ? it takes about two mins for it to cover the screen, almost as if it's being sprayed on.

If i turn it off and leave it for ten mins or so it's fine, it's about three years old and not been knocked/damaged etc

Does this happen all the time or some of the time, if all of the time it sounds like the backlight is starting to go inside ya monitor resulting in pixel lag. looks like a new monitor needed, should have lasted longer than a few years though

i was thinking backlight mate, now when i turn it on it's black then it goes into grey streaks then full picture and it's fine after about three mins. i wonder if my household insurance will cover a new one? i am sure they said they do like for like ?
