Ah ha.. There appear to be loads of downloads and some instructions on there for the games kernel.
Have a look on there and let us know if you get stuck

Seems like I've got the operating software onto the DS, god knows how but I've done it.

Now how to get games onto it. Do all the games come in winrar file type thingy's?

They are normally zipped up with winrar.. Quite often there will be lots of .txt files and other crap in there. You are only interested in the file that ends .nds the rest you don't need.. good luck!
