    USB Hubs

I need to get a USB Hub but i don't where to start - i'm not fussed on the number of usb connections as long as there is a minimum of 4 on it and it's decent. I have looked around and some look really cheap

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

I've got one of these & it's great 4 PORT USB MULTI HUB EXPANSION SPLITTER SLIM & COMPACT on eBay (end time 21-Apr-11 17:46:31 BST)

I've also got one of these UK STOCK MAINS POWERED 7 PORT USB 2.0 HUB * FREE POST * on eBay (end time 17-Apr-11 05:44:53 BST) but haven't used it yet... It's got 5 ports on the front & 2 on the back

The second one i think i saw some bad reviews on it about the mains lead not being upto scratch.

I was looking at one on Amazon for about £16 - it's got some really good reviews

    D-Link DUB-H7 7 - Port USB 2.0 Hub External: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

I've had a look & if it does the job go for it

Me personally, if it's going to be on show i want it to look nice & do it's job... The 4 way USB splitter i've got is tucked behind my PC so you can't see it & works like a charm (no external power supply needed).

I'll have to dig out the 7 USB i've got & give it a whirl to see how good it is... It's not the exact one i gave you the link for, it's pure black & it was from China... So fingers crossed

All you have to do if the lead is dodgy is replace it with a new good quality one

I bought the smaller Dlink 4 port powered hub, its been spot on so far. Altho I wish I'd gone for the 7 port 1 now, but that's another story lol.
I got the Dlink cos I had trouble with a cheapo eBay jobby in the past. They should all be the same but they're not sadly, so I paid the extra for a good brand name from a good supplier (dabs) for the extra security.

It's best to get a powered 1 incase you run into any power problems with lots of devices connected, you might not need to use the power lead but it's good to have incase you do imo.

Thanks for that review Hippie - it's appreciated

I will probably go with the 7 port one
