    Very Strange Internet Problem

I pride myself on being good with computers and knowing quite a lot about software, hardware and other such things, but this little problem has me completely stumped.

Sometimes it happens, then it clears up, then it happens again.

The problem is I can't access my Trance site. All the browsers I try keep coming up with server not found. Now, you may be thinking that the site is down, but this is not the case.

I can access the Trance site on my mrs computer, our laptop, my phone, at work etc etc, but it's just my computer which is throwing the error up.

Some of the things i've tried are:

Delete internet history, cookies etc etc, both through the browser and a washer programme I have.
    Disabling my firewall
    Resetting my router
    Resetting my network card
    resetting my network settings
Turning the computer on and off

I'm now in the process of remastering my computer (which I usually do every 6-12 months to clear everything out)

I've done a google search and tried all the things I have found but still no look. As I saw, it's not a constant problem, it happens every other day then sorts itself out.

So, any ideas but this one has me stumped.

A very obvious thing - do a full virus scan - but one thing that has come to mind is, is it possible that someone has remote access to your PC?

But very strange as every time i went on your trance site since it's re-opened when trying to access the smilies that my PC would crash. Could it be a spyware or malware problem with any ads if you have any?

My PC is like fort Knox msprim so it's definatlely not a virus or any kind of key logger who has control of my PC.

I have a double firewall on my router plus a 2 way firewall on my PC.

I can acess the site fine now once again. At first I thought my ISP had blacklisted the IP address but this wouldn't explain how sometimes I can get in on this PC and somtimes I can't.

I guess it will remain one of those mysteries that will never be solved.

As for the smiles on IAAT, as I said over there, i've never had a problem and IAAT has less mods installed compared to this place. Plus the smilies are just inage files and not mods.

After further investigation, it seems my ISP is to blame for this.

For some reason they are blocking my IP from accessing the site.

Both my host and myself have done tracebacks when getting onto the site and it comes back with the same error.

I've sent an email to my ISP to get the problem sorted.

Just an update on this one folks.

The problem itself was really starting to become a massive issue. I could log onto the site for 10 minutes and then it would just stop.

I rang O2 to get to the bottom of it.

After going higher and higher in Tech support (I reached a level no one ever reaches....the guy told me I was one of only a handful to reach this level ) they were still scratching their heads. We were doing all kinds of tests like trace routes

I changed over to my old router and low and behold everything worked perfectly. The reason why the router was never deemed as faulty was because it was only 1 site which was being blocked. So, we have now put it down to the MAC address being blocked for some reason.

So anyway, they have sent me a brand new router to replace the faulty one (it's a newer and better model, so a nice free upgrade) and they want me to send the faulty one back because the guys in tech support want to dissect it and find out what was wrong.

    So all sorted.
