    Mediafire (New Look)

I've just logged into mediafire for the first time in a week or so and noticed they have changed it again. Not sure about the look yet but it seems a lot faster to browse around your folders and files.

Yeah, was going to post up about it this morning - looks more professional if you ask me but also a bit Apple-ish, if that makes sense.

Not too bothered but it does look neater, simpler, and it is definitely faster - they've also ironed out a few bugs. For a free site I think it's awesome.

I also looked into detail this morning about MF deleting files and even whole accounts:

Considering I've got 100Gb on there, I think I may be okay as a free account user - they don't like 'warehousing' (large files being kept on servers) and inactivity with your account

It looks good but the uploading is now crap - it reads your files first for viruses before they begin to upload and then it keeps uploading the same file!!

I was using Firefox last night and i got annoyed with it so just cancelled the uploads - i will try Internet Explorer and see if i have the same problems - hopefully it's just a bug

I noticed something I uploaded on here in Live sets was a little screwy after the upgrade to the site (why I didn't notice before is beyond me) so I decided to update the links as I had them in a dedicated folder but there seems to be a couple missing from the folder?? Looks like I will have to upload them again.

I'm a Pro user and have been for a couple of years now, so there is no problem with them deleting files, but on Free accounts they do delete inactive files.

I'm guessing that's going to be a bug...apart from the virus scan thing. I'm sure that will be fixed soon enough.

I uploaded a load of files today using Internet Explorer and it didn't read the files so it must be a bug when using Firefox

I've been in touch with Mediafire today regarding re-naming files. When I try to re-name a file to tidy it up, it will stop at a certain amount of characters and in most cases I am using less characters than the original file name. They asked me to give them the link to the files in question. As of yet I've not heard anything since then.

I've never had this problem before.

Also noticed after their interface overhaul that uploading to the folders is very glitchy - be careful when uploading, and refresh the page to double-check your files are in the correct places

I forgot to update this thread about the bug I found with editing and re-naming files. Mediafire got back in touch and confirmed the bug, but it seems it is only affecting Firefox as when I use IE9 I can re-name the files no problem what so ever.

I'll be copying these to the Mediafire thread as although I didn't like the new look at first, I've been uploading solid for about 10 hours yesterday and since 5am this morning and no problems so far

Yeah, i did all that before i had the problem & i've done it again after, i've done a system restore, i've tried opening Mediafire with Google Chrome, Firefox & IE & even my mobile phone but none worked... I even signed up for a new account with a different email address etc & it still just says loading items 0/0 then times out or says i have no network connection. It does the same when i click on somebody elses MF link to download something... Fuck knows what's happened

I've been uploading for the last few days as well (Fantazia Sets) and all is fine and dandy. I'm having to use IE though. There seems to be quite a few bugs with Mediafire and FF when you use them together.

Maybe it's your internet connection playing up Leon

I'm on Google Chrome myself, sounds like a local internet problem. I know one of the Renegade DJs had issues with it last night
