    Uploading Sharing Rips Advice

    Hello matey peeps..

I was just wondering about uploading some vinyl rips ive been working on. Ive been selling vinyl for a while now on discogs and pretty much everything ive sold I have ripped to wav with soundforge using a 1210 a good spec laptop, Edirol FA-66 soundcard and kept. With the Wav archive ive got ive batch ripped everything to 320kbps MP3. So Im happy to upload some of the rips ive got but thought id check to see if theres any do's and dont's regarding this. Also whats the best space to upload em to (Sendspace, yousendit) ? And I would appreciate any feedback on the quality of the rips ive done and possible pointers. Let us know any advice appreciated and I look forward to contributing to this forum.

Will move this to music chat.

Some file hosts to use would be the main ones everyone uses on here...

    www.rapidshare.com
    www.megaupload.com
    www.mediafire.com

All those are very popular and easy to use.

As for general putting stuff on here. As long as the files are labelled correctly and you put them in the right sections (the right years ect) then generally there are no other rules apart from that. Lot of folks on here will enjoy having a 320kbps MP3 version of the track, they are always warmly received.

Rapidshare is popular for those with accounts (as it's really quick) - but it's a bugger for those without.... I have an account so rapidshare is my fav

I like mediafire.. Rapidshare isn't too bad if you don't want to download too many things (I'm a free user). It a bugger when it tells you to come back in 12 minutes.

Technics 1210s are great for DJing, but if possible use a decent quality belt drive turntable for making rips, thus avoiding the inherent rumble that comes from the direct drive....

And I prefer if people then don't apply any filtering or cleaning...I can do that myself after..and .wav is always welcome...if I want a tune that badly I will take time to download and process it afterwards...

And I like when people check it for skips that so often occur from vinyl sources..

And I like to know the source...vinyl, CD or web...

And just another "And" for good measure...
I stand with my legs apart while DJing...this way it is more difficult to throw me off the decks...I believe it is important to prepare properly for each set...and have the appropriate attitude..
