    WTF!!!!!

    After reading this thread
Old Skool / Jungle 320 Vinyl Rips .. updated often.

I decided to have a look and see if any of my links have been affected. I logged on to my Mediafire account that i use for my Ravers-Choice blog and this message popped up

The file 06 DREAMSCAPE 7 HYPE.mp3 identified by the key (ozozhztfujy) has been deleted for a violation of our Terms of Service or our Acceptable Use Policy.
If you feel this was in error after reviewing our Terms of Service, located at Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire, and our Acceptable Use Policy, located at http://www.mediafire.com/abuse_policy.php, please contact Support.
The specific reason for the removal was:

In a word yes, it is a hot topic over the road on OOS and a couple of other forums.

I've had a look at mine and it's all good on my end. Nothing has been deleted.

Can those of you who have had their files deleted confirm they are free mediafire users and not pro users?

I'm a pro user, so I pay for my account. I'm just wondering if there is a link to this some how.

The only people who hold the rights to the copyright are those that produced the tapes in the first place.

Isn't the Dreamscape guy dead now? also, are a lot, if not all of the links to vinyl rips in cr3's from labels which are now gone?

I am a free user China - but files that were private have been deleted so it's like someone has had access to my account. It seems to be DJ mixes that have been affected by this only. I just hope that my other Mediafire account hasn't been affected otherwise i will be a well peed off lady

Just so everyone knows i have sent an email and i am waiting for a response

so that's 1 free user so far who has been affected

It would be interesting to hear from other users and if they are on free accounts.

maybe it is because strictly oldskool is private, or maybe its because they havent got round to your other account yet.

You should also log into blogger & check if google has sent you a takedown notice for any blog posts.

I'm a free user & all my uploads appear to be working fine... I've got a fair bit on there & all categorised into appropriately named folders, i've checked my albums, labels, mixes & tracks folders & they all work fine.

It's abit of a piss take having some bloke tell you he thinks you're violating terms & conditions & then removing files from your account... Surely they should email you first to let you know what is about to happen & give you the option of responding or deleting the files yourself?

I logged into Blogger yesterday and there was nothing, although i have had a DMCA notice on two things on my Ravers-Choice blog, Blogger moved the posts to my drafts folder so they are not public.

I will check again now to make sure though

I have this on my dashboard on Blogger but this has been up since i got the DMCA email from Blogger

We have received a DMCA complaint for your blog, Raver's Choice. An e-mail with the details of the complaint was sent to you on Jul 29, 2010 , and we reset the post status to "Draft"; you can edit it here. You may republish the post with the offending content and/or link(s) removed. If you believe you have the rights to post this content, you can file a counter-claim with us. For more on our DMCA policy, please click here. Thank you for your prompt attention.

So it's not this affecting my Mediafire links as the 2 items were not Dreamscape sets.

Just received 2 emails from the guy

Here's the first response re my Mediafire links

As you rightly say a number of items have unfortunately been removed from Mediafire in error for which we can only apologies. We work in good faith and work to ensure only items that we have a legitimate interest in are ever affected. It appears however a list of links that we have no interest in has been included in a list of items we are interested in and have been removed from Mediafire. We, like you, were at many of the events you refer to and as such we'd be the last ones to want to see them vanish from memory.

The list of links you have provided is of great help as this does allow us now to not only try and find how this list was compiled and came into us but more importantly it gives us something we can use with Mediafire to have the files re-instated.

I'd like to offer our apologies once again for the inconvenience this error has caused and we'll be happy to contact Mediafire to clarify the situation, advise them of the error and provide them with the list of links that were affected in error.

For clarification, is all content listed below content from your Mediafire account or would we be correct to assume that your content is just part of this list.

In the interest of resolving this matter quickly we have advised Mediafire of the error and requested that the DMCA Take Down Request be withdrawn for all the items listed, a copy of this will be sent to you.

If there's anything else you would like to ask please feel free to contact me.

    Regards

    Andy Crane

and the second response re: DMCA Take Down Request Correction

For your reference, this is the email we have sent to Mediafire.

    Regards

    Andy Crane

It has come to our attention that a number of links were submitted to you in error as part of the DMCA take down request shown below. At this point in time we are unable to determine which of the links below should have been submitted for removal and which should not. While we review this list and in the interests of those who have unintentionally been affected we would ask that the whole of the DMCA Take Down Request below be withdrawn. A new DCMA request will be submitted when the list has been checked and amended.

Please accept our apologies for this error

It's very strange this one. This company seem to be a bunch of raving lawyers. I would love to know who they are representing in these various cases.

I'm just wondering if it's perhaps an ebay seller who is making profit out of these mixes/tracks and has seen his profits take a nose dive due to sites like this and over the road and has got in touch with this firm and taken them on to represent him/her.

Or it could even be like big guys like Fantazia who also sell these packs that have taken on this company's services.

It hasn't affected anyone yet with a premium MF account according to the responses in this thread so far, yet it also hasn't affected every user with a free account.

All my links are still working 100%, including Dreamscape links.

I have a premium mediafire account and some of mine have been removed by the same company.

By the response I got I am hoping they get put back up

In response to who owns the rights, Somebody does own the rights to dreamscape but to be honest the rights mean jack shit as they were never legal anyway.

I used to work for Murray (dreamscape) doing a few bits and bobs and to think he made well over a million pound from tape sales which he really did not have the legal right to copyright the material is just pure genius.

    RIP big man

They so do not know what they are doing

this is weird as from memory i thought that copyright laws on live sets only last for 10yrs. Dreamscape or esp was sold to slamming vinyl by stacy (murry's girlfriend) when he died in car accident.

i would say if you really want them to be on there then rename them.
