Its All About Oldskool Monthly Email (2nd October 2011)
Welcome to this month’s IAAO email.
A little function which has been added to the forum is the ability to see you threads and posts a lot more quickly. This can be done either on the main forums which will list all your threads and posts or it can be done on a forum by forum basis, which means you can see your threads and posts in individual forums. For a little more information on this, check out this post: Its All About Oldskool Forum Changes & Updates
I upgraded the site software to version 4.1.6 a couple of weeks ago. This was an update to the mobile style we have installed. It’s for those folks who like to browse the site on their mobile phones, MP3 players, iPhones or iPads. 4.1.7 Will be released in the next couple of weeks and once released the site will get an upgrade.
For those of you thinking of becoming a VIP member or for those who don’t know what a VIP member is, we have changed it so it’s much easier to become one for a very small yearly fee of £5. This small amount goes towards the costs of running the site such as hosting costs which I pay on a monthly basis. To find out more and see what you can expect from VIP then check out this thread for all the details on how to become one and how you can support IAAO, click here: Become An Its All About Oldskool VIP
For those of you who like to listen to music while surfing the net or while looking around IAAO, then check out the radio button on the tab at the top of the site (where it says Home, Forum, Blogs etc) click on the radio button and a new window will open up which lists multiple stations and genres to keep you happy. It has Oldskool rave, House, Techno, Trance, Pop, Drum & Bass and more. You can also rate stations and add stations to your favourites so it will play your favourite ones first. Give it a try. Here is a direct link to wet your whistle: Radio and TV
I’ve been demoting and deleting lots of members recently. These are members who either haven’t made any posts in a certain amount of time or have logged on but not said anything. There are still lots more to go through so to stop yourself becoming dead wood, then log on and get posting.
Have you ever sold or got rid of some of your precious vinyl and wish you hadn’t? what vinyl have you sold and miss? Let us know here: The Missing Your Vinyl Thread
We now have over 3500 live sets available to members for free. Singles we have over 3500 as well and these range from the very early stuff right up to 1999 and cover a multitude of genres. Labels have now reached over 375 different ones, a huge amount of labels which again cover lots of different genres. If you haven’t checked these sections out for a while then get yourself in there. If you don’t see the one you want then each section has its own request section.
Don’t forget there are lots more goodies in VIP.
Have a great month,
China.
