Its All About Oldskool Weekly Email (10th May 2010)
Welcome to this weeks (late) IAAO email
Due to someone knocking out the plug of the server when they went to the toilet, the site was down for a few hours on Sunday evening. All is back to normal now. Sorry for any inconvenience caused which resulted in some of you having to converse with your loved ones.
There's lots to talk about this week as the site has seen some big changes happen.
First of all you may have noticed when you logged on to the site on Saturday that a brand new banner had appeared at the top of the forum. This is our new banner for the site which was designed last year by our designer Steve. Steve is also responsible for a lot of the members sigs. We tried to install it last year but there were some major headaches with it and it was put on the shelf for a while until a solution was found. After lots of tweaking and cups of tea, I managed to get it sorted. You will not find this banner anywhere else on the net (unless someone nicks it) and it makes us unique and is much better than a simple name at the top of the forum.
Other changes see the search box being moved to a lower position, an advanced search button being put on the navigation bar and a couple of SEO mods which work in the background for our resident bots.
The change which should prove popular though is the addition of a radio button. This is situated on the navigation bar next to the FAQ button. Click on this little jem and you will be in music heaven. It will open up a small separate window and there is a list of radio stations for you to choose from. Make your choice by clicking on any of the stations and like magic, the station will begin to play. This is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. No waiting for weekends to get your oldskool fix. Also, it will have multiple genres and radio stations, so if you fancy listening to some chill-out for instance, just click the station, lie back and relax. Lots more stations will be added soon and when new ones are added, I will let you all know.
Have you ever wanted to ask a particular member a personal question but not had the nerve to do it? well here is your opportunity. A new section called IAAO Members Q&A has been created. Members volunteer themselves to be asked question and give the answers to them. All the questions are sent in a PM and then published in the section for that particular member to answer. The first member to face the chair is me. Please look here http://www.its-all-about-oldskool.co...orum.php?f=403 for more details and if you have any questions you want to ask me, then send them to Swipezster.
Have a great week.
P.S. I've heard that the exclusive Pat & Mick studio mix which I mentioned last week has been leaked to a lesser known and poor imitation of this site. Well, never mind, we can't get all the best stuff and it's just a case of sharing the wealth sometimes, after all, we have lots of it to go around.
