Its All About Oldskool Weekly Email (22nd August 2010)
Welcome to this weeks IAAO email. There's lots to get through this week, so grab yourself a brew, light up a cig and read on.
This is hot off the press (not literally as I don't have a printing press and this isn't a newspaper, it's an email) Swipezster is back on the airwaves. After 2 weeks off our resident hairdresser by day and DJ by night has, get this, 2 shows this week on Renegaderadio. The first is Monday (23rd August) from 5pm till 7pm. Foo is having a little break and Swipezster will be filling in for him (those are some mighty big shoes to fill) so show your support and tune into the show and join the banter in the chatroom at RENEGADE RADIO - Oldskool | Hardcore Breaks | Jungle Music Download | Pirate Radio Download you can found out more info on the show here: DJ Swipezster - Acid Attack
His second show sees his much welcome return to the Curly & Swipezster show this Thursday (26th August) between 6pm-8pm, again on Renegaderadio. So make sure you tune in for that one. I'll be there in the chat room along with may others, so join in the fun from 6pm and show your support. Have a look at this thread for more information: Curly & Swipezster Show - A Fresh New Start
IAAO's very own John Peel, RenegadeGenius, has surprised a few of us this week by doing a mix. This shocking event sent ripples down wall street. I've had a listen and it's a fantastic mix. I urge to check it out and have a listen. Grab it here and let him know what you think: Little Mix From Me (Which is a bit of a rarity!) - Some Unreleased & Older 'New Old Skool / Hardcore Breaks'
Here's an offer for all you producers out there. Vinyl Junkie wants you. Do you have what it takes to be on Vinyl Junkies next compilation? if you think you have, have a read of this FUTURE RAVE ANTHEMS VOL 4 - Mixed and compiled by VINYL JUNKIE and get in touch with Vinyl Junkie and who knows where it will take you. You best be quick though, the deadline is 15th October 2010.
Talking of Vinyl Junkie, he sent me a DVD this week filled with nearly 3gb of Live sets and Studio mixes. In amongst it all were some never before released sets. These sets have never been released to the public, they are, dare I say it "exclusive" to IAAO. Because of this, the sets are only available to those members in VIP. VIP is for those who have donated to the site to help with the costs of running the forum. As you know we aren't on a free host and we have to pay hosting costs to keep the site on-line. You can find out more here: http://www.its-all-about-oldskool.co...p-member-1904/ So if you fancy some never before heard, seen or released sets from the likes of Ellis Dee, Slipmatt, Ratty, Tango, The Producer, Kenny Ken, Top Buzz, Pilgrim and quite a few others including the main man himself Vinyl Junkie, then make a small donation to help with running the site and they can be yours.
There's only a couple more weeks of Regular weekly emails to go before I head off to China for a few weeks. When I do go there will be no email until I'm back.
Have a great week.
