Thread: Its All About Oldskool Weekly Email (3rd April 2011)

Welcome to this week’s IAAO email

I would love to delve into a nice subject this week but there is far too much IAAO news to get through, so I will save the opening piece for next week instead.

Now that the cheering has subsided, I shall get on with it.

The biggest news from last week is the radio feature we now have on the forum. You may remember that we had one for a few months on the old forum software? Well it’s now back. The problem with the old one was that those with Mac’s couldn’t listen to the radio like everyone else. The new one on the other hand caters for both Windows & Mac users. Some stations have already been added and you will notice that each station has either (Mac) or (PC) at the end of its name. It’s pretty self-explanatory what this means. You may also notice that some also have (Mac & PC) after the title and again this is self-explanatory. Ok, to see how to access the radio and how to use it then check out this thread: New Radio Button Added it explains it all in a little more detail and don’t forget, if you want a station added, just post in that thread and give me the details and I will see about adding them. Feedback and suggestions are always welcome.

I’ve been thinking about merging a couple of sections on the forum, namely Jokes & funny stuff with NSFW. If it is to be done then the forum will still be locked to those who aren’t logged in, which is to keep any young eyes from seeing something that will give them nightmares for the next 20 years. I was also looking at merging the music documentaries section with the music section. It isn’t used very much and as we have a media function on the forum now for videos and songs of the day, then it seems pretty pointless having something multiple times. It could get confusing.

The top posters mod made a welcome return last week. This lists the posters with the highest post count…wow I hear you cry. You can see it for yourself at the bottom of the forum page.
