    concerning the Labels section

My concern is, the labels section is split into A-Z and so forth just like the Singles sections, but when someone posts a new label, it just slots into its alphabetical position; unlike the Singles which move up the ladder according to recent posts or replies. This makes browsing the labels section for new additions difficult because you have to go through the entire list to find the newer ones (not that many are being put up at the mo). But it's a nuisance. The Singles is fine; anyone posts a newbie - it's at the top for a bit...anyone replies...it's at the top. Not so for the labels....even when people reply or add a post, it remains in its alphabetical position........can this be amended so new posts feature near the top....please?! I find it a bugbear Especially when I'm looking to see if any of my potential requests has been recently added, sometimes they have and it's things I'm not interested in (just like the case with Singles posts), but unlike that section; I can't suss it out as quickly, I have to go through them all.....neetmare!

    Cheers.....Col

Not really mate, it's much easier to search in the sub-section where it's broken down into five alphabetically-ordered zones.

So say you're after all Formation labels, click on A-F, then the "F" icon on the top bar and this will narrow all labels down to obviously the "F"s. Bad example really as there's 9 different threads under Formation!

Seriously though, the normal latest-poster-going-top will make the Labels section very, very messy and I wouldn't be best pleased... took me a whole morning to sort that lot out in a neat way!

See where you're coming from Col with regards if someone posted up a new label, but it'd be displayed anyway when you hit the "What's New?" button every time you log on.

Hope this explains it, just basically keeps everything neat & tidy which is something the mods & admin are particular about... log on to other sites to see how shitted up their download sections are, until they nicked some ideas off here

yeah it's alright..I posted this THEN read the "what's new" post....having that obviously makes a difference, but the whole A-Z getting messed up happens with the singles so I don't really take that as a valid arguement mr.swipey swipes.........yeah you can go to "F" and narrow it down that way, but half the time there's nothing new there and you can't tell until you've traweld through numerous pages - there might...MIGHT be one thing new on say...page 4. Yippee fuckin' yoo!!!! It's a pain!! unlike the singles where the new posts are bold and up near the top. It was a neetmare; but I haven't tried this "what's new" feature and that will obviously help. Anyway, minor quibble really, I just wondered why it was so different from the Singles sections and if anything could be done about it................

At one point we did have all the labels in separate forums, but this proved to be a mammoth task to maintain especially when new labels were posted and then new forums had to be created for them. A decision was then made to keep the threads in alphabetical order so when new labels were posted, they would automatically slot into their correct places without the need for separate forums. It works well but at the same time I can understand your frustration and for some I could prove to be quite confusing.

I don't have a problem in changing it so new posts are displayed first like in other forums if enough people find it a hassle to see what's what in there. It's a simple settings change so no extensive work is needed.

I'd leave as is mate, to be fair Col has had the only valid point about it.

Thought everyone used the "What's New?" button?

Is there any possibility of a 'What's Old' button for anything i may have missed over the last couple of years?

We have that already Leon, here is how to do it (for future reference)

Go into the forum you want to look at 2 year old threads
At the bottom of the page, to the right, you will see page numbers
    Hit the word "last"
Then research at your own pleasure
