Thread: How To: Use The Media Library

We have added a brand new feature on the forum called a media library.

This will take posting videos on the forum to a whole new level of interaction and user participation.

At the moment we are just going to use it for music videos, but over time this can/will change to other things of interest.

What is the media library?

It a place to post videos from all the popular video sites out there like youtube. You simply pick a category and post your video

Where is the media library?
You can find the media library by clicking on media at the top of the forum, this is in-between the Forum button and the Blog button

How do I post a video?
First of all you need to click on the media library button which will take you to the media section. Once in there:

1) scroll down to the bottom and look for the Submit Media section

2) In the media URL box, paste you video link

3) IMPORTANT: Select the right category for your video from the drop down list. There is no point posting a gabber track in the 80's section

4) Hit the Retrieve Information button

This will then open up a new page which has all the details about the video you are about to post. You can either leave the information it brings up like title, tags and video information, or you can edit the information yourself.

5) IMPORTANT: Underneath the comments box you will see a tick box called "Auto Create Thread" please tick this box as it will put the post you are making on the forum, so people will see the new video which has been posted and will be able to follow the link from that post. It's a very good way to see what is being posted in the media section.

6) Once you are happy with your chosen video and information, hit the submit media button.

That's it, job done, you have now posted a video on the new section. Users can post comments about the videos and also rate them or mark them as favourites. All users who post videos will have a section on their profile called media and it will list all the videos that they have posted.

The categories created at the moment for you to choose from are:

Oldskool tune of the day
80's tune of the day
Hardcore/Gabber tune of the day
Hip Hop/Rap tune of the day
Acid House tune of the day
House tune of the day
Reggae/Ragga tune of the day

More can and will be added to this, but it's just to get you started as they are very popular threads in the music section. If you have any ideas of sections you would like to see then post them in here.

A separate Media forum will be set up which will list all the videos posted as they are posted (see instruction number 5)

Reckon we should have a gaming section: stuff thats coming out, crazy gameplay, stuff like that. Maybe a section for film trailers as well.

I was also wondering if it'd be possible to have a random button for each section. Say you're in the oldskool section and don't know what to watch/listen to, hit the button and........

This is for all classic Trance from the early 90's up to current
