After replying once on here on this 1 thread, I can see all the messages within the coded links - so basically, 1 reply on a thread will display all that was hidden on that thread.

You only need to reply to the post once to see the links. No matter what you add after the first post.

So for example you do a post with a track in it, and someone replies, then you do another post with another link in it, a user doesn't have to reply again to see the new post because it has been logged that this user has already replied to the post.

Good stuff.

Users who take the time and effort now have a choice. These people are the people who post stuff for all of us and who the leechers leech from.

It's a good idea, and I use it on a few other forums too.

I'm the same. Loads of forums where they use it. But as has been said, it always generates reply after reply of thanks. While this isn't ideal, I still prefer it to nothing.

My Fantazia links for instance have been downloaded nearly 200 times (from when I first put them on pureoldskoolers to now) yet only a handful of replies have been made. It gets on your nerves after a while.

Yep, that's exactly how you do it.

Similar to how you post a youtube video where by you put the link inside the tags. Just press the "code" button and that's it

2 things:

It makes the divshare encode button a waste (was just getting to use that too )

I like to keep all my links tidy by pasting the link, putting some [] in the url code, and then typing a neater description for a single-click link. Although it's no bother and worth the extra 5 seconds for every download, we've now got to open a new tab on our browser, copy the link and then paste it into the new browser.

Personally I don't like this extra hassle, but if it stops the leechers and ungrateful

Divshare links are not affected by this Swipezster, they have their own button. This is only things which are posted using the code button. Everything else stays the same.

Also, as has been said, this is purely a choice made by the individual. If you don't want to hide your links then don't use the code button. If you choose to hide the links, the option is there for you

Great idea & I'm all for it F*** the leaches! I can see myself sorting through alot of posts later when I can be bothered!

I think I meant that if everyone uses the practise of using codes for their links, that lovely little divshare player will be obsolete - shame, I really like that. Think I'll still use that for the VIP (where I'm posting most of my stuff now anyway because of the actual leechers ), and the code for the normal mere mortal section downloads.

Don't know if I've already said, but this is an absolutely superb idea in bringing the forum forward

I'm abit worried that im going to get lazy in my saying thank yous... been trying to download stuff, take the time to probably listen then reply afterwards with something abit more profound then just a simple 'cheers mate' for example, tracks in a ep i particularly like etc.. and if ive already said thank you, will I be bothered to actually 'review' the download.
I like it when theres a decent thing to read in reply to posts, would suck to see them lost under a sea of 'thanks' posts.. Helps me know what to expect. Fuck it, ill just have to discipline myself to do both! and not be a dirty leecher!

Ok, step by step for you and others having trouble:

If you are editing your post to put your links in the code button, do this:

1: Click Edit post
2: hightlight your link as though you want to copy the text
3: click the code button

This will wrap the link in the code tags....hit submit, job done.

If you are doing a new post, follow the above steps, but this time:

1: On the posting page hit the code button
2: paste your link inbetween the two boxes

It takes seconds to say thanks, have a listen and then just simply go back and tell folks about the track or set. Believe me, folks will love the fact that you have taken the time to review their posts and it will spure on others to not only grab that link but perhaps do something similar
