I've had a look at the example and I don't see what the problem is????

Links go in code tags, that's the only thing which needs to be hidden, nothing else should go in a code tag.

You could do what I have done in my live set links and have what DJ it is and then put the link in a code tag, like so: http://www.its-all-about-oldskool.co...?f=216&t=12960

The whole point of this is to hide the links. Whatever folks do outside of that to make their posts look nice is up to them. People will post how they want to post, they can choose to make it fancy looking or they can choose to put a simple link in the thread. It's up to the individual on what they do and how they want to present it. Nothing has changed here other than links are hidden. It's really not an issue.

The problem is that unless I make a random comment I cant see what releases are available or missing.

I had look at your live sets link and yes, that is the minimum of how it should be done.

I see what you mean. The only way around that is a poster, when doing a thread, lists what they have from that label. I have seen some posters do that, but not everyone does. Some folks are better at presenting their posts than others, but that's just the way it is and there is nothing we can do to change that fact.

As you are after a particular song from a particular label, the chances are you will reply to that post anyway and there is nothing stopping you editing your post after replying.

This is about hiding links, not presentation, regardless of what stumbling blocks you come up against. The individual doing that post can do the post however they see fit. Sure it's nice if they present it well and I for one love seeing a well presented post, but as we have already discussed, we can't make people post in a certain way because it's pleasing to the eye, it's up to them how they do it.

The thread title clearly says Moving Shadow Discography 91- 94 & I've provided a discogs link so I think it's pretty obvious what's for the taking :-\ I think you're being too picky

No but if we at least discuss it as we have done, people will see the benefits of a little extra information

Cheers for the heads up, I wasn't aware of that release. I'll see if I can track it down

By all means [DS] and I'm on your side here. Posts which are well presented are easy to understand are always a bonus, especially in big posts with a lot of information and links.

It's similar to how you store the files on your computer, in particular music files and how you organise them. A well organised system is a much better system and easier to follow. (try reading the OCD thread in general chat )

Please forgive this old man if a decade of posting habits dies hard and I neglect the code tags accidentally, any mod is welcome to edit my links if I forget.

Please do not use the [code] tags anymore. This is for the old forum.

    Use the [HIDE] tags instead.

haha, to make it even easier for you, when you are making a new post, on the posting screen where the BBcodes are, you will see one which looks like a gold key, click on that and it will add the [HIDE] tag. for you
