The Recent Forum Slowdown Problem

Running slow for me to-day! X(

same here Half the time, can't even access the page

We will be moving onto another server next week which should sort out some of the slow downs we have had recently. I will let you all know when it's done. Fingers crossed.

The server has now been changed over.

Anyone who has made a post in the last couple of hours may find their post doesn't exist anymore. This is because of the propagation between name servers and it has gone back in time to when the change first happened.

It's wierd because the change happened and I opened te forum back up and I made a post here about it.

I go away, have my dinner and a cuppa and I come back and the forum has gone back in time to when I first shut it while the change happend. I thought I was living that groundhog day film

Thank God i tried to access the site this afternoon and the site wouldn't come up

As you may all know now we have changed servers. This means the forum should be lightning fast at all times :ympray:

During the change a few things have happened. Avatars not showing up, posts missing ect ect.

These problems have already been addressed, but if anyone sees or experiences anything just not quite right as it was before the change, then please let me know.

There have been some changes - I think at least two of the members online tonight are sober (me being one of them )

There is an error on there due to the server change, away from the forum which needs fixing. It won't effect the forum at all but it could leave it open to attack. I need to sort it quick smart.

Some strange goings on tonight! I posted 3 times earlier,logged off came back about an hour later & my posts were gone!

I couldnt log on earlier also!

Not sure if its been explained properly to the users so ill quickly try and explain it...

If you post something, and its gone in a few minutes, basically you have posted it on the old server. This may happen randomly up to 48 hours after the server has changed over. So that's only a day left now of this randomness!

All it is, is service providers such as BT or Virgin save a website on their servers to make the internet quicker, and their servers can take up to 48 hours to find our new server.

So at our end we've done everything we can to make the forum run as fast as it can. Were just waiting for the service providers to refresh their servers and its full speed ahead

I was stuck on the ghost forum today at work on my own.. deleted my cookies and history, but still kept goping to the dead site
