How's it going Uk and elsewhere - ex-pat Brit, Col - now living rather lazily in Oz
married and 3 kids...well they're dogs but they think they're human...
known as "Rapt4" on YouTube, where I enjoy checking out vinyl uploads of my fav genre
Hardcore Rave from circa 92-to about 95-ish; also enjoy graffiti, reading and writing
genre poetry; some sports; movies, especially Horror and B Movie/exploitation etc;
Sci-Fi, Fantasy and all crap like that, plus novels...some TV, socialising and travelling
etc....open minded, friendly, eccentric and very passionate, especially about my Old Skool
Fav DJs - well, I've enjoyed them all at one time or another depending on set but, in no official
order: Seduction, Easygroove, Ratty, Ellis Dee, Mongoose, Rush, The Producer, Clarkee et al
MCs? Well...despite it being a contentious area I do like most Mcs - Ribbz, Robbie Dee, E.L.L, Joe Peng
(personal fav..), Magika (don't bash me for that, I thought the guy was 'ok'..) and many others. I think MCs
just came along and fit into thr nature of the scene and most promoters persistently booked them...
...so they must have been doing something right. No?
Fav tracks or labels? I really loved the Sublove releases and was only saddened that they were
only a handful in reflection. The best I heard personally was the obscure and little known
"Coherent Flow", with possibly one of the best synth segment ever conceived in a Rave tune.
I also loved the Out Of Order tracks, Out Of Romford label, Bogwoppa stuff, some F-Project releases
(I did think some of them were crap - Universal Sound was a great one..), Chaos and Julia Set stuff,
especially the euphoric 'Atmosphere'; err...what else. I really like finding the more obscure or lesser known/
played gear...I tired of hearing the typical 'anthems' getting bashed 24/7.
You can probably ascertain my tastes from my favs over on YT....
anyhoops, I've really rambled. Self-indulgent bastard. I'm not entirely familiar or
comfortable with forums so it might take me a while to explore and uderstand the logistics.
Special thanks to 'breezey' for giving me the nudge....cheers, and 'catch ya' as the Aussies say. Col [music]
