Thread: dreamscape 1

quick question for the older members ,did anyone go to the first dreamscape, was it any good and does its deserve the mythological styus it has with it not being recored and only a little youtube video to see it ?

Some mates of mine went & said it was a quality night, apparently it was freezing in the queue though.....

I didn't go, but from the photo's etc it looked pretty good.. To be honest it probably only has the legendary status due to the number of events they ended up putting on. Many events around that time would have been as good.

Living Dream in early 91 at Leighton was one of the best events I went to (about 12,000 + people and on until 10am) but you don't here much about it as they only went on to do a few more do's mainly at clubs rather than on a large scale.

I went to DS 6 in 93 and that ended my raving career.

nice one thrash , i wondered if it had just been so over hyped over the years because of the fact there no recording of the night and the fact that the other 30ish ( dont know how may there was , stop counting ) were recoreded ,

i think you hit the nail on the head wigs mate , with then doing some many more dreamscapes over the years that its kind of let down that we willl never get the tapes

not heard of living dream mate will have to have a look around to see if theres any tapes foating around from them ( hope so) , my first dreamscape was 11 0r 12 cant remember ?

have to agree with you on that one mate , sad to admit that this was the first full tape pack i ever brought , sold it on ebay years ago for 40 quid

As others have said Dreamscape is a legendary event as so many events were put on and also because Murray Beetson RIP is no longer with us Which was the original promoter of Dreamscape, so as Dreamscape is going strong since his untimely death it's like a tribute to Murray too which makes it an extra special event

To be honest Dreamscape 1 not being recorded was probably due to recording problems or they just didn't bother as they maybe didn't forsee that mixtapes of live events would be a good seller - they soon learned though

Living Dream put on a few good nights from what i can remember and i think i have a few flyers

40 squids... That aint bad mate, i was selling my tape packs on fleabay a few years ago & the most i got was £20 for a 6 pack from a Steam event (i had 2 of them anyway, i kept the mint copy with the flyers inside)

Tell a lie, i sold a Dreamscape 21 12 pack for £25 in mint condition

yeah wasnt bad mate , this was when everyone put rare on ebay was in mint condition ,also sold 7,8,9,10 got about 20 a peice for them , the best money i got was for a shity mc spiders birthday party 96 ( i think ) was held in leicester, listed it and on the first day some idiot offered me 50 qoid for it , something about having the mrb and mc spider ( bonus tape ) with it , so said yes as you do the next week the idiot has it relisted for 100 quid buy it now , i watched for two weeks to see if it sold , shock horror it didnt

sadly no but heres the kicker didnt pay for it they were giving them away free at when you brought the lateset formation lp ( at shq , djss old record shop) there was loads of them in a box over the back of the counter , funny old world

This is the one I went do.. Lots of Doves.. on until 10am... what a night.. was foaming at the mouth at the end.

it's all good.. there are a few of my wants listed over there (I only collect promotors where I went to an event fortunately which reduces what I'm looking for).. to be honest, most of the ones I need now are either pretty rare, or I don't know they exist.

I went to Dreamscape 1 i was in the Army at the time and me a and a few mates drove up from Colchester where we were based to attend, i was only 17 and apart from a going to "Rolling THunder" and "Raven" at the Colchester Uni and a few dos at TuTus in Colchester this was my first of many big Raves and ultimately the beginning of the end.


Was from i can remember a very good night with the help from some Yellow New Yorkers ( Well 1 and half to be exact as i bottled having another whole one ) how times changed as when i stopped pills i was doing bloody 10 of them i guess they were getting worst quality.

The thing i remember most about the night is me crashing my car on the way home though i had only just passed my test aswell lol.
