    Easygroove

I have probably about 100 sets from the legend that is dennis aka dj Easygroove my all-time fav DJ , from various big events and studio mixes. Mainly on tape cassettes that i started collecting as a young teenager some cds and now from the internet onto mp3. I have the easygrrove Fantazia Summertime 92 on old shitty quality cassette, have looked everywhere on the net for it, I have found some to download but none of them seem to be the full version i hav on tape, someone on youtube has the full set i have but in four parts his link at bottom of page has anyone got in full good quality.

Oh.... & that set on YouTube is Easygrooves complete first set (about 45 mins) then about 15 mins of second set which made up the full 60 min original tape. The tunes that follow can be found here.... Fantazia Summertime (15/05/1992)

There's also a full DAT recording from the night which despite having no mc's (some may think that's good), has the full second set from Easygroove.

Easygroove. One of his facebook admin got sacked the other day for sprouting racial abuse at the death of Amy Winehouse.

China (the Big Boss or the Mad Ferret depending on how you look at it) has uploaded the whole night from Summertime, including that 60 minute Easyrgoove mix & the quality is really good.

Pretty much every set from '92 is a belter.... Some of his sets in '93 & beyond are a bit too harsh on the ears these days. It's also interesting how many people became instant Easygroove fans after that New Year 91/92 set at Fantazia.

Not sure if you know his set from Summer Dance Fest in '92 as that's one of my personal favs?

He was well in with Fantazia & Obsession, that's why he often played 2 or even 3 sets at some events. Either that or Psycho his security just wouldn't let anyone else on the decks...

Plenty of Easygroove fans over here.... Quite a few of us too who were at that Fantazia event.

Thats one thing im gutted about not actually being at the early fantazia's or obsessions as i was to young, i left school in 91 and was just starting out realy with the Koas Theory tapes and the raves up in newcastle early Rezerections. I did see him twice at the big universe raves in the mid 90's and loved every minute off it

if you read that Vinyljunkie interview that is (or was?) featured on the Home Page; he talks about how Easygroove held him back from playing the Fantazia 'Second Sight' in Feburary '92; telling the promoters that Junkie "wasn't ready yet.." when he felt he was. He claims that Easygroove had the clout and would often use it against some of the Bristol boys coming through at the time. As a DJ and advocate for the Hardcore Rave sound I loved Easygroove, but if it's true then obviously his ego is a bit suss....I had the one and only pleasure of seeing Easygroove (as the DJ not the person) play at Kinetic in 1995....fast pumpin' "Appy Ardcore" stuff......anathema to Thrash!

So there could be truth in that 'security' claim.....I've heard he was hard to get off the decks. None of the Ravers would have been complaining though....he could certainly entertain with his brand of tunes.....I don't know the whole truth so it's impossible (as well as pointless) for me to judge, just following up on your comment...........

Good post tomahawk does seem abit suss Eze did play a few sets at the big events no one else seemed to have that privallage, as a BIG easygroove fan though the more the better for me, but i bet the other dj's didnt see it like that. He was the best dj in the country for me by a mile, he could play a wide range of tunes every different style their is or was and more, even mixing in regular pop songs and fecking nursey ryhmes. Not just the records he picked like some dj's couldnt fucking mix for fucking sugar but played decent sets by good tune selecting, Eze mixing was top notch too quality entertainer got the crowds buzzing.

    South Wests finest.... Nuff said!!

You got his house set from Universe 'Time Machine' in 1993? Unreleased, this recording came from Easygroove himself....

Great Dj back in the day alongside the bristolians ribbz, joe peng n jack horner. They kinda had their south west sound. Fantazia summertime was a great set. I dj myself and have bumped into a few times over the years. Very arrogant and a right handful when in sight of the turntables. Rememer one night nthe fella from obsession was there. Easygroove was screwin at him n demandin money. His security creature is frightenin fact.

Great dj though. Never scared to try n pull off mad mixes n covered the genres well.
