Thread: fantazia summertime, outdoor raves

i never went to any of these in the early 90s, were they as good as legend has it or are raves best in dark clubs with the intense atmosphere and loud sound. ive been to global gathering once and that was better in theory i think, it did rain on the second day though

I went to Tribal Gathering back in 94/95 (or whenever it was, in Oxfordshire) and that was pretty awesome. It was the only outdoor one I ever went to.

If you'd ever experienced a proper outdoor rave like Summertime or Book of Love there wouldn't be any question as to which is better....? You also have to remember the sound systems were far louder at the outdoor events than they are allowed to get away with now...

Seeing the sun come up whilst 15,000 people are still going mental is an experience that stays with you forever plus the rushes you get from raving outdoors & being off your head are quite different to being indoors!

Saying that, Tribal Gathering in '93 was up there with the best even though it was in tents....

yeah i can vouch for that. wicked event. all the parties i went to i would say the outdoor style ones were the best. regarding indoor ones never really liked the sanctuary as a venue, although it served a purpose. westpoint good venue but sound wise was rubbish for 3rd dimension. so yes i would say outdoor events with or without tents were the best.........

went to Tribal Gathering when it was at Luton Hoo which was amazing. Other than that I have been to outdoors things, but not many and some ended earlyish due to noise restrictions and things like Global seem a bit too commercial, far and expensive for my tastes

Summertime and the like really were as good as they looked.. Fantazia Donnignton suffered due to sound restrictions which was a shame.

Fantazia Summertime was possibly the best night/morning I've ever had, it was perfection apart from the heavy handed police on the beach afterwards X(

Like Wigs said, some outdoor events suffered because of sound restrictions but even at those events there was summat special about being outside pilling your face off when the day was breaking listening to wicked tunes [music]

did loads of outdoor events in 91-93 and pretty much every one was awesome. in fact i can only think of one party that wasnt up to par.
