What still stops you in your tracks when you think about summat from BITD oldskool-wise?

Mine:

• First time I heard PFM - The Western / Hypnotizing at Discogs pilling my tits off just rushing to the 'cowboy' synth on the platform @ Quest 1995
• Grooverider with Man Parris on the mic doing an all reverse-bassline set @ Pandemonium Mr. B's late '94. My God, the fecking roof tore off
• DJ SS dropping DJ Crystl - Meditation / Warp Drive (Vinyl) at Discogs on Xmas Eve 1993 @ Pandemonium The Institute from the start all the way through to the end (again, out of my tree on the platform building imaginary boxes and what-not)
• Robbie Dee screaming down the mic @ Flashback The Que Club 2001 after Ratty rewound Tango And Ratty* - Tales From The Darkside (Vinyl) at Discogs "They don't make 'em like they fuckin' used to..."

Jesus, I still get a rush thinking about that last one

Being at Dreamscape 6 in 1993 and realising the 'rave scene' was all over (for me).

The music had changed
The attitude had changed (some idiot let of some pepper spray)
The pills had changed

Realised I was just going through the motions.

That was my last 'rave' event.

Mines a very simple one:

Listening to Stu Allan's radio show with my mates, sat in our cars, parked in McDonalds car park with a hot chocolate

The laughs and the memories of those days will stay with me forever.

my mate BEGGING the bouncers with tears in his eyes to walk him to the car, with us all laughing at him.... cos he got it in his head half the club were waiting for him outside to jump him

tbh though.... it WAS the Ilford Island

oh and another bouncer related one.....

outside the lazerdrome..... bouncer said to another mate he wanted to search him before walking in..... so insted of standing there with his arms up... as you did..

he fuking walked upto the wall and spread his legs and put his hands on the wall..... expecting a propa full on police arrest

i think everyone in the que outside pissed their pants laughing

stood in the queue for the Eclipse, i had got in the door and near the searching area and a lad in front was caught with something naughty and two bouncers gripped him and dragged him into the room that was the cinema when it changed to the edge. 30 seconds later the doors come flying open and he makes a mad dash for freedom, before 6 bouncers dive on him, dish out a few slaps and drag him screaming back into the room and shut the doors. his screams stopped quite abruptly then. looked at everyone else in the queue all with the same look on thier faces thinking "i hope i hid my pills well enough"

my mate running for the bogs at aston villa leisure centre whilst puking in the 5 finger spread style, and covering loads of ravers with his lunch is an image that is indelibly marked in my memory

Mine was walking in a portaloo when my mates bird was diddling herself

She must have been, I had to spend the rest of the next day pretending I was so fucked out of my head I never realised I had seen her

perhaps unsurprisingly, i wouldn't have been able to NOT say something.

we went round a mates house one night and nobody was answering the door, so i went round the back and looked through a gap in the curtain into the bedroom and found the babbysitter lay on the bed having a wank! i waited for her to look like she was cumming and then rapped on the window she answered the door red faced and i couldn't help but ask if she needed a hand to finish off. she swore at me and shut the door.

and yes i did tell my mates i had caught her and they never used her again (for babysitting)

Another great memory was going to Spats in Oxford St on Sundays in 91. You used to get all the top dj's down there having a chill out after the weekend, Fabio and Grooverider, Rebel Mc, Ratpack, Ragga Twins and loads more I can't think of. Small little club with a dance floor the size of a postage stamp. Those were times when those guys wern't particularly famous, they would have to have their own vip area a couple of years later no doubt after 1992, Good times.
I was only 16 at the time.

I did this around my mates house after Kinetic but it went all over his parents rug and his dog was being sick everywhere after having a sniff of it I soon left after that

I like C-R's "sitting in McDonalds car park listening to Stu Allen" - reminds me round my mate's house in the week (man, we couldn't wait for Pandemonium every Friday!) listening to Mickey Finn on a sixteenth-copied cassette, taking it in turns to play Shinobi on the Megadrive and roll spliffs, putting the worlds to rights as to why hardcore was the best music ever and modern 'pop' music was shite... no change there then

mine my first rave in 94 , standing outside of starlight club in leicseter at a total kaos rave and having a bag off pills taped to my bollocks , standing in the cold and hearing the bass pumping out and seeing loads of older lads not being let in by the bouncers , so what we did was find a group of older lads than me that were 5 foot odd and stand next to them and with me being 6 foot hoping that i wouldnt be pulled out the que , thankfully it worked , then going past the bouncers after being searched and not finding the pills paying my 10 pound at the door and then heading to the bogs to rip the pills off my bollocks

one that always makes me smile is remebering putting the world to right with the cod shit talks in the chillout areas fuck know what were sorted but at the time it was deep stuff

To be fair, him & I had many a pilled-up deep cod-shit chillout talks. As for his brother - man, he was an animal on them little round pills, so bollocksed he couldn't speak

Your making it sound a bit seedy mate, luckily there were no back door shenanigans going on. For some unknown reason, we all needed the bog at the same time so me and Stu were waiting
by the stalls for a bog to be free. He didn't know that in the one we were waiting by was a lad who used to go with us called peahead, so I started banging on the door and shouting fuckin'
hurry up etc. Stu was shitting it and screaming at me to stop thinking that some geeza would come out and a load of shit would kick off, then peahead comes out and I think Stu nearly fainted,
