Thread: USH.net closes

I know a few people from here posted over on the USH website, well it's closed it's doors now. Back in the day it was the biggest hardcore related website on the internet but now it's no more.

WHAT i used that site all the time back in the day it was awsome

Yeah it's gone. Too many shit posts and arguments ruining the site so the owner closed it down.

another site gone , had a butchers around there a few times

That's the first oldskool site i joined & started uploading my tape packs to... I got an email from a member off there the other week about a Deathrow Techno 4 pack i've got.
It's a shame it's closed

I agree with Renegade Radio, it's unlikely a lot of them will move to other sites. Maybe the odd one or two but the chances are the type that would join here for example would have already joined long ago.

I never went on it once, so I know nothing about it and what it was even like...I didn't even pull up the URL of it! It's a shame, but when people start getting on high horses and falling out; things invariably go awry. Bummer; but that's the way of life I suppose

It's time had come and gone to be honest. I was a regular poster on there from 2001-2006 and during that time it was a great site. It's peak was probably around 2004 where you'd post a topic and within minutes it was on to the next page, the traffic was that fast. The difference between it and most forums was that its users were regularly going out and meeting each other at raves most weekends, so there was a really strong community. All good things come to an end however and once people stopped taking pills and going out so much, cynicism took over and it was very difficult for new people, fresh to raving, to really settle in. Don't Stay In appeared at the same time and was much more welcoming to these new ravers than ush was, and so it suffered - as most forums end up doing - from having the same people on there.I'm sad it's gone. It was indirectly responsible for some of the best times in my life and I ended up dj'ing at places and meeting people I never would have done if I hadn't gone on there, some of whom I still see regularly and count as very close friends. I also would never have met my wife to be But it has been on its last legs for a long time now and the Waffle board, once a real mixing pot of people, was down to the same 4 or 5 people posting.There's many amusing things related to the site, but probably best of all was the time when we worked out the USH Incest web - i.e. who had slept with who. You were connected to someone else if they had shagged the same person you had. Turns out that just about everybody was connected in one way or another :lol: The full list was drawn up one day but has never been seen. Even now it could cause a lot of damage!

I was a regular poster on happyhardcore.com from around 04/05 and that had crazy traffic the same as USH. That's also started to go down hill over the last few years. I joined up to USH but never really got into the swing of things there because it was always too hostile for my liking. This is the only forum I post on now. Sadly facebook and twitter have taken over and tons of forums are closing but in the case of USH it was it's own downfall.

You often find that new people joining a forum that has being going for a while you cant fit in as they are all to together and when you post something or reply no one replys or they jump down your neck so you have a feeling of whats the point

I never joined USH.net but it's a shame it had to close

BLOODY CUMMIN OVER ERE AND POSTING YOUR VIEWS

i not seen that happen to any noobs ere that get involved. i personaly hate cliques.. all about more the merrier.

BUT. also gotta remember its the internet and EVERYTHING posted needs to be taken with a pinch of salt and a giggle......alot of people still cant seem to grasp that.

Only really ever went on the Track ID forum and had it in my favourites as I ued it pretty often. There were some really sharp guys in there that would ID pretty much anything I could throw at them. Shame its gone.

ush closing is a good thing, well good for hardcore anyway.
it used to be an awesome site but for the last 5yrs or so its been a site run by idiots for idiots.
thats why most the bigger name dj's stopped posting on there
