Thread: What local club did you get your hardcore fix from??

Apart from all the big promotors and venues there used to be the small clubs that was open on a weekly basis smashing out the hardcore sound.
What was near you/what did you go to on a weekly basis to get your hardcore fix?

Mine was Berwick manor in rainham & Grange farm in chigwell both was like a ten min cab from where i live and had some of the best nights for like a £5.

Mainly JJ's on a Friday night for me if you're talking small clubs. Later turned into Mr B's. For such a small club they attracted some of the best DJ's going at the time and who can forget the mirror room Really fond memories of it looking back and my first steps into the world of Hardcore and everything that went with it [music]

the fubar stirling as my local clubs refused to play hardcore as they were above all the raver scum(as they put it).but had the best nights ever in the club the fubar ruled!!!!

i used to have a couple of residences in the edge room 2 and a couple of bars bitd, so if i wasn't at clubs/bars i played at for 3 years i was at the eclipse/edge we was more into putting on parties both legal and illegal than spending lodas of coin to see the big names.

goldiggers in chipenham and brunel rooms in swindon and rhythm station in aldershot were local(ish) haunts of my mates and myself though when we werent doing big events i was busy gigging or we were all tripping our faces off at free parties

Started at The Ark in Sudbury, Suffolk at the end of '91. When that closed it was Oscars, Clacton which I reckon I went to every week throughout '92 apart from the weeks when I went to a big rave.

I went there a couple of times Clangster.I had some friends from Epping & North Weald who i would go & stay with & they took me there twice.I was only 14 at the time & they were a bit older,it was the summer of 92 & my first proper experience of the raving scene.Great little place but no class A for me then i was just learning how to skin up.

Their was only 1 club near me that played hardcore and that was the legendary Leisurebowl, home to the awesome Kinetic. My raving days were between 94 and 97 (though I did a few oldskool events near me after that), and with only a few mates loving the hardcore and only 1 driving, it was a case of walking the 20 minutes to Kinetic but later in my raving career we did manage to get to Helter Skelter and after Kinetic, down to Westport Lake. Oh the memories!!!!

Grange Farm - jesus thats a memory jogger - used to trot up there when we had no cash!!

Mine was the Labrynth in Dalston - almost a religion with us. If i'm honest i don't think my best night at a big event was as good as Labrynth on a normal night - still get rushes thinking about it!!

Yeah mate grange farm was a mad ol place,if i remember it was a caravan park with a big school like building in the middle,they used to hold all night events there which was in a big hall. sometimes they would have it in a smaller room till 2am which used to look like an old kitchen or that might of been the pills

There wasn't too many in Kent.. Went to Slammer a few times, but mainly either travelled up to London for AWOL or The Rocket, in not one of them was Sterns.

There weren't too many hardcore clubs in Liverpool back in the day, so we usually had to travel over to the Wirral to the Drome, now and again we'd shoot down to Kinetic, or Bowlers in Manchester. The clubs in Liverpool were mainly house, places like 051 and The State, Nation, although Vertigo used to drop some hardcore in Nation. At one point 051 started playing hardcore techno/gabber, but that didn't last long.

Que Club in B'ham during the Flashback era was my local had my own little spot at the front by the right speaker :p

Oh i just rememberd i used to go club elevation every once in a while aswell down shaftsbury avenue in london. anybody else go there? was mainly dropping snowballs so it no wonder i forgot

goldiggers and the brunel rooms, tiergarten (bath) spirials (yate) and then the obsession club in Hereford although not very local as i was based in wiltshire but everybody knows why i was there.....
