Not most folks cup of tea on here but there's no doubt bods here that like a bit of 4 beat.

    I shall kick things off with these badboys;
    Supreme Helter Skelter NYE '96

    Love both of those.

Way too many great sets to pick one, so I'll choose my fave by year off top of my head:

'94 - Swanne @ Vibealite Sugar, Spice and All Things Nice
    '95 - Slipmatt @ Vibealite Slipmatts Birthday
'96 - Billy Bunter @ Lost in Paradise, Fantasy Island

Never really liked anything after NYE96.

DJ Seduction @ Amneisa House Sept 94....I think?
DJ Dougal @ same event....not that great now, but it starts off with Sensi Tize's "Burn Baby Burn" and I would just listen to that part of the tape over and over!
DJ Base @ Kinetic's 3rd Birthday. Despite interchanges of bad MCs...this features some awesome tuneage, mainly breakbeat....and incredible mixing. He was only 16 years old at the time!!! He deserved the gig though.....the set pissed on most '95 Happy sets the whole year over!

There's a Ramos set from Diehard (I think from Sept 95, but not sure?) Really brilliant set, with more emotive tunes and again...perhaps the last great breakbeat Happy set before the invasion of the Cheese-Stomp! I'd love to get this....anyone have it. I think it starts with "Tribal Chant", Ramos and co's own tune.....anyone recognise it?

There are so many mixes i could list but it would take forever

I used to love United Dance and Fusion events - so anything mixed by Seduction, Sy, Druid, Vinylgroover and Slipmatt - i used to like Dougal's sets too only because of his tune selection rather then his mixing - he wasn't a tight mixer and the same with Hixxy and i loved Sharkey once he started mixing too

Fucking awesome set that one, I played that tape to death for a good few years. Some cheesy tracks in there for sure, but the best kind of cheese Also I like Ronnie G aswell. The Ramos set from that event is top too.

    Other fave ones of mine,

Vibes @ Helter Skelter Zoom '95 (probs the only set I'll listen to with Livelee on it)
Demand @ Kinetic 4th B'Day, '96. Starts off with Hocus Pocus - Here's Johny, stormer of a set.

I think Billy Bunter @circa 1992 would be my favourite "happy hardcore" Dj, Dougal was my least favourite one

totaly dissagree with ya 100% pre 1997

94 - 97 happy hardcore was THE ONLY genre you could rush and get a bit of the old feelings from the 89-93 feelings, vibes and lets face it.... no wanksta fuk wit, gun slinging tossers in sight vibes and jump around with a big fuk off grin and shakin everyones hand while rushin off ya pills and billy.

try doin that in a jungle rave in london in 95.....to the present day.... withought gettin mugged, stabbed, shot.... or some prik grabbin ya mrs arse and tryin to nik ya spliff!!!

anyone that says otherwise................... would love to know what jungle events you went to in london in them days....... cos ya chattin shit

to an extent you know i agree.... just wernt fast or HARDCORE nuff for me though............ added to that.. i see almost as many glassing and stabbings and wanksters at house clubs then as i did at jungle events (ATOMICS NOT INCLUDED - TAT CLUB WAS ONE OF THE BEST VIBES EVER)

Places like Club UK catered for both house & techno bods though & had the same atmosphere as being in a small warehouse rave.... that's why I used to go to Final Frontier every Friday night through '94 & '95....

Happy Hardcore is for people who like dancing in luminous pink fluffy boots.... probably why you're a big fan innit chump....

you know thats why im fan

it wernt wannabe ravers then..... the fluffy boots and glow stiks wernt realy around until late 96/97 if i remember rightly

    as for club UK....

wernt that safe bruv...... see a kik off or 2 in there in 95/6.......

plus (and i can say this as he dont use this forum) oly.s was turned away from there in 95 cos he looked too young

we had to go to the club in lester square (in the basement next to what is now capital fm building)... though.... some sweeeeeeeeeeeeet happy vibes there and a safe crew and a good night every time. (but atomics still ruled)

I must have gone over 50 times on a Friday when Universe ran the Final Frontier night & never saw trouble once? Everybody was too off their heads gettin' busy with it.....

I'm with Haze on this one.... it soiled the good name of hardcore & has shaped many opinions where if you mention to people you used to go raving, they associate it with your luminous pink fluffy boots!

and that will be due to..

A - you said earlier you have no idea about the genre other than what you bought in 1999 on a MOS cd from tescos

B - ONLY people that have no idea and wernt part of the scene (lets face it, it was an underground scene from 1990-1993 so why would anyone that wernt part of it or old enough) know anything other than what the MOS and post 1997 clubbers (i say clubbers cos they wernt/aint ravers) know anything apart from that shit???

THEY WONT AND DONT - AND WHY SHOULD THEY??

THEY WERNT PART OF MY MEMORIES OR VIBES SO FUK EM

I have to agree with Puffa here - happy hardcore from 1994-1997 was a brilliant era - i loved the happy hardcore sounds - i loved the energy of the music and i was also into house and garage from 1994 onwards too - i wasn't too pushed with the d'n'b sounds as the events i went to were MOODY!! Not my thing really with the exception of Metalheadz at the Leisure Lounge

I like to go somewhere that i feel comfortable without the threat of being attacked which you never got at a happy hardcore event and the atmosphere was blinding too not as good as the earlier 90s but it was pretty dam close
