Where do you buy your vinyl from?

Now that it is very rare to find a record shop where do most of you buy your vinyl from?

Alot of mine came now come from HTFR and discogs, some come from ebay but its always a bit hit and miss as to what condition is like. At leas with an on-line shop the condition should be pretty good.

What sites are good for oldskool, hardcore and the like?

new vinyl is very expensive these days with post and all that, chemical records is probably one of the best online stores though.

Beware of htfr - they do a lot of snide stuff pretending it's proper presses.

For old skool stuff, you're better off trading via the well known forum members.

There are also a couple of people doing represses of rare old skool / unreleased stuff:

Old School Hardcore, Breakbeat & Jungle New & Used Vinyl & CD's
Welcome to the Sublogic Recordings webstore...

I think Discogs seems to me to be the best place to at least start, as you can search for ANYTHING you're after and it's either for sale or not.....and if you add something to your wants list when it's not; you're eventually be alerted when it is!! Then it just depends on condition, price and the seller.....ebay was a good place and I picked up a lot of good tunes I wanted there in 2006, but waiting for the exact tunes and then bidding and winning is a lumbering affair; where as Discogs is immediate and covers a more expansive base.

There are a few record stores I've bought from in the past like ClassicTrax, but they are usually quite expensive and you don't have the choice that you do from Cogs....literally anything you're after, if it's available....and a lot of stuff usually is!

    two places:

    IMO Records (London)
    Discogs

Trouble with discogs is that you don't know the quality of what you are buying. I know they state condition but sometimes isn't the case.

Discogs has been a joke lately for me... I bought an EP last month, payed & heard nothing until last week when i emailed them asking if they had sent it... They replied they were looking for it... I left it a few more days & just emailed them again... They sent me a full refund & said they didn't have it (after 3 weeks)... I've just ordered it off another Discogs user but it is another £6 on top of what i payed for the 'vinyl loser & VG+ instead of NM'... I made another purchase off Discogs last week for 8 vinyls off the same seller & haven't heard a fucking thing about it... I payed as soon as i got the invoice...

It is making me angry (turns green & everything except my penis enlarges)
