these days? fantazia have and always will be a commercial organisation. if there's no money in it they're not interested. simples

the events you have been seeing for the last few years badged as fantazia are not fantazia run events. the scottish ones are done by colours and the current english events are run by others paying fantazia for the use of the brand name.

Because there's plenty of twats that'll pay it. Same as these Ministry of Sound Oldskool comps they bring out - not meant for the people that were there or in the know - meant for the masses who remember Charly being in the charts & want to reminisce their youth.

I've got a ticket for Fantazia next week but really can't be arsed going. I just purchased the ticket "for the good old days". Reading a bit more into it and Haze is right...It's basically an Illusion piggy backing on the name of Fantazia.

I went to nearly every Fantazia up to 93 and gotta say they were great, but my memories of them are staying in 91,92 & 93. I won't be going to another one.

Which reminds me...I'll be giving 2 tickets away for next Saturday's Fantazia on my show next Friday.

Fantazia are just exploiting people with their online prices - unfortunately people still pay their prices - if people didn't buy from their site they would have to bring the prices down.

The prices for the cds are ridiculous and the prices on some of their flyers are outrageous!!

Just wish people would open their eyes and shop around - and not buy from their because it's THE 'Fantazia' site

    thats the point i think.........

those of us that were at the original events have great memories of how it was and great memories of the times we had...

the events i have been to in the last few years have just been dissapointing and shit over the memories etc for me.... pretty much the reason i wont go out raving now.

if your young and never experienced it, then yeah im sure it will be a wikid night, wikid experience and ya gonna av it large etc...

but it aint nuffin like the old days if your thinking about going and reliving them feelings.

    again... its 2011. not 1991.

just think........... been 20 years innit............

20 years before 1991.........1971.... that puts it in perspective for me.... time, attitudes, fassions, drugs, and music change.

im sure everyone that were in thier teens in 1971 still love the music from that generation and still listen to it................. but id bet none of them still go ou to dirty clubs and drop bluies/acid and dance the night away every other weekend.

    and as an extra here.....

i went to a paul mcartney concert a few years ago with my mate as we blagged some free tickets...

we loved it.... seeing a beatle playing beatles songs.... propa singing along to hey jude etc....

but was full of people in thier 40s and 50s..... all massive beatles fans...... yet you could hear them saying how different it was etc and they wernt atall impressed with us singing along at the top of our drunken voices.

    food for thought

That's a top post. Wasn't their some major split following NYE 91 at Exeter ? memories a bit Hazy, but it had something to do with Robbie Dee, and the start of Obsession, I remember them always putting "Original Fantazia Crew" on their flyers.

For me after that Fantazia was more about business than parties. I'm not kidding myself that all/most promoters wanted to make money, just that it didn't seem to be their prime purpose.

its a sad fact but true that fantazia is a dodgy origination. the scottish events are indeed run by colours & the uk ones are run by illusion. basically a promoter pays fantazia a fee per event to use the name & the promoter then does everything to do with the event themselfs the only thing that fantazia has to do with it is an agreement which means that their stall must be at the events which is another way for fantazia to make money. fantazia claim to own the licensing to various videos from raves which i know not to be true. i have seen videos get uploaded on file sharing sites only to appear for sale on the fantazia website days after in dvd format. i can buy it being a coincidence once or twice but over ten times? also i have heard stories of djs recording their sets using their own equipment & fantazia telling them they cant share or do anything with the sets for free or otherwise even tho they recorded them with their own equipment.
