Is it worth selling Vinyl Collection now ?

Just been toying with the idea of selling roughly 300 of my most desirable oldskool hardcore vinyls, and putting the money towards my next car. This isnt a direct advertising of my sale, just wondered what you lot think : Is it worth selling lots of vinyl in a job-lot, is it the right time, would the value be severely diminished in a wholesale lot, has the value of oldskool vinyl gone down now, would you keep it, etc ??

you'll make more if you sell individually, though the hassle factor increases

i sold off almost 2,000 tunes a few years back and probably made 1/2 the money i would've had i been arsed to list everything individually. didnt really matter though as all the tunes sold were ones i'd been sent on mailing lists over the years so any cash for em was a profit

As much as i can't believe what i've just read..........

I'd say do them individually on cogs and ramp the price up - if someone wants to pay over the odds for it then so be it. If they don't you don't lose your vinyl & more importantly, can still look at yourself in the mirror everyday - and i don't mean it that "vogue" kind of way.

if you don't need to then don't sell, i sold a shed load back in the 90s and to try and get them back now would be way to much of a mission. i am still gutted about some i let go there part of you so hold tight i would say

I personally wouldn't sell my vinyl - you'll only regret it in the long run.

But if you do decide to sell - sell each vinyl seperately on Discogs. If you sell the lot in one go you won't get as much

    Thanks for the replies ppl

I think I am going to keep them tbh. I would only sell them if I could sell the lot on one go for a reasonable amount, and I dont think thats very likely.
I couldnt sell just a few, I'd be gutted looking at the ones I had left and thinking why did I sell.
If it means me spending another 3 or 4 months saving for the car I guess thats not too long, better than the next 30 years wishing I hadnt got rid of my vinyl !

I think you've made the right choice Nik

And 3 or 4 months isn't that long Plus you'll have your vinyl and you'll have a nice motor

    Dont do it...

I have only ever got rid of 1 vinyl over the years. It was DJ Jean - The Launch (dont know why I bought it in the first place really) and I frisbee'd it out of a 4th floor window because I thought it was a good idea at the time (and i did quite enjoy it tbh!).

Still, no way to treat a vinyl

    Am deffo not selling them

I also had a change of heart about saving for a BMW M3 too, the running costs are mental anyway, but with the way petrol prices and car insurance is going I think it would cripple me
So I decided to keep my current car and spend some money on it. Its a wicked car and I would be daft changing it really, fast enough really (328i coupe tuned to 230bhp) reliable and tidy.
