Think it would be fine for a 12 year old. My mate's sons are around that age and early teens and play it. Its obviously violent, but it depends on what you censor from your kids. Everyone has different views around what is ok and not. My son is younger and watches me play it online and he loves it. You'd have to watch him if he plays online himself as there can be a lot of bad language from other players (which you can mute anyway), but nothing he probably hasnt heard in the school playground before. Its no more violent than the games we played as kids, before censorship on them, they just look more realistic now

my 13 year old son loves the game but he does seem to favour using the knife for up close and personal kills !!!
