    Xbox Kinect

So Microsofts entry into the who body motion sensor thing for your console was released last week and it's called Kinect.

I've been having a play around on it and I can say it's the best of the current crop. Gaystations move and the now outdated nintendo Wii.

You don't need to hold anything in your hands, the only thing you need is yourself to control what's on the screen.

It works very well and having played on the sports games with Boxing, Bowling and Football, i've been loving it.

Has anyone else had a go of it yet?

Haven't tried it out myself yet, but so far most of the first impressions from people says that kinect takes far too much space to work properly.
Microsoft might be able to patch themselves out of this problem, but this could be a serious issue for them.

I can't help but think that it could be even further improved by being able to use a motion controller like "Gaystation's move" as well. Anyone know if this is planned by Microsoft?

    It's been hacked already lol
WE HAVE A WINNER – Open Kinect driver(s) released – Winner will use $3k for more hacking – PLUS an additional $2k goes to the EFF! « adafruit industries blog

Some of the 3d stuff you can do with it looks quite interesting

I doubt I'll get 1 for the xbox tho tbh I'm too lazy and play games on the consoles so I don't have to really be Tiger Woods to be Tiger Woods ffs. Same goes for all the others tbh, I've got PSmove cos it came with the console and cba using it and only really play the Nintendo titles on the Wii and would rather use a controller than flail my arms around and jump about to control them lol.

We have been thinking of getting a Wi for x-mas but saw the advert for this the other day.. Need to investigate further, but is this the way to go now rather than a Wi?

I wouldn't bother with the Wii any more mate. It's really starting to looking old now.

The Kinect is much more fun to use (we have it at work) and I can't keep off the thing.

HD Gaming, fun addictive games for all the family, no controller to keep hold off....you are the controller

Forgot to add. If you haven't got an Xbox yet, then look out for the Kinect packs which include either the 4gb Console of the 250gb console.

Must admit I hadn't realised what it was until seeing the advert and thought... hmm.. do we really want a Wi.. I'll need to check the cost though against the wi..

No idea on this one Dodders. But i'm sure it will eventually be utilised somehow. But it would be pretty cool to pretend you have a shot gun killing people

Who the fuck wants to stand up & play GT5

I just hope the future of gaming doesn't end up with all this waving me hands about & acting like a moby in front room

I hate it without even looking at it.
