2012 olympics good or bad for the uk
As a London resident for the time being all i ever hear on local news is these bloody games not a day goes by without it being mentioned as the sad thing is not many londoners will be able to go to the games. Most of the events are in East London wheras the West of London has got zilch. The main stadium after the games is for the whole of the uk not much use if you live in the Shetlands and now there is talk that West Ham United football club want it as there stadium and as a lottery player i did not intend it to become a football stadium and unless you are a West Ham Fan i'm sure the lottery players amongst you guys will not be too amused either and there is still a 500 million shortfall for after the games too which no one mentioned when bidding for them gripe over now. lol

It'll all depend on the money it brings in.
If it brings enough money to businesses etc so that overall people benefit then it's a good thing.
I was happy when London was chosen, although it's unfortunate that we then fell into recession which has made things stickier.

Re: 2012 olympics good or bad for the uk
Having just been through the 2010 olympic games process, I would be skeptical about the games. Though I enjoyed it while they were going on, I don't think they were worth the 6-7 billion dollars they cost to host.
The Summer games might be even more to host because there are more events and likely too more athletes, support people, security, organizers, etc.
It does make for a good 2 week party.
