Next stop (because it's marketed as a good idea) Children, the elderly and you and me. Not everyone has a smart phone.

personaly....... i dont think 'tagging' children is a bad idea.....

so long as tag is removed 'on request' at a certain age (16-18?)

would put an end to run aways / abductions / child murders maybe?

That's exactly how they are marketing it. Make it out that it will protect your child from those nasty Paedophiles, when really it isn't needed, it's just a way to have a state where everyone and everything is monitored and tracked 24 hours a day, there will be no escaping it. Don't forget the UK is the most monitored country in the world thanks to CCTV and if that wasn't bad enough they want to go one further??

Big Brother is watching (and monitoring)

Of course that makes sense Puffa and it's stories like that which will hit home with people and make them think it's a good idea. But the thing to remember is that it will be done not because it's there as a good thing to protect people and their family, it's there as a form or controlling the masses even further by 24 hour monitoriing. They are not bothered about kids going missing, kidnapped etc etc, they just need a way to incorperate it into daily life and make it normal. Going for the heart strings is a perfect way of doing this, going for criminals is a perfect way of doing this.

We've spoke about CCTV before and how it was marketed to stop crime, yet crime rates have shot up. It was marketed as a drime prevention tool, when in reality it was there to monitor people and if we catch a couple of criminals in the process, perfect.

I'm with Puffa on this 2bh. Theres a million schemes that they can put in place to monitor us more closely (and i'm sure they're coming) but considering the Nanny state we already live in, it might give parents the confidence to let their kids go out and....well, be kids.

to be honest I don't really give a shit if i am being controlled... why fight it!

And i'd be more than happy for my kids to be tagged.
