Just a bit of info, posts by new members saying hello to other new members are likely to get deleted by admin as 'spam' so you may not get promoted. This may seem harsh, but forums like this have a lot people who join, make the required number of posts and then don't get involved at all. My suggestion to you, if you plan to become involved (and that doesn't necessary mean sharing music) is maybe delete your posts from the introduction forum (before admin do) and find a few other threads to post in.

to be honest, i've been active in MANY forums over the years. Google zombiefly and you'll see all the evidence right there. I find this 10 post restricted access thing to be very off putting TBH, while I understand the basic reasoning I think there are better ways of removing dead users, like purge scripts, for example. The post restriction can cause people to post things onto threads they would probably not usually post, just to get the post count up.

All that's happening here is that I'm being prevented from uploading the content I wanted to contribute. Doesn't seem to make much sense really? Why not offer instant promotion via site donation? I often support sites/projects that take donations towards the running of the site.

Hopefully the promotion gods are in a good mood today

I could be a dick about this and delete the majority of your posts and go into massive detail about the positives and negatives about the 10 post rule. But i'm not going to. Incidentally, if you do want to investigate this more, then just take a look in this section Announcements & Updates and this section Feedback, Questions & Suggestions for countless posts and opinions on this.

Anyway, back to my original point, I will upgrade you, but please remember to stay active and say thanks for anything you take, or you risk losing your download privileges.
